The reason they call it islam race is that the new race is a combination of pre-islamic and islamic times in arabia. You clearly see that the monsters in this video are based on Pharaos, but when you read the storyline, you read about the race that believes in God. In pharao times, arabians didn't believe in a god.

So actually there was a misconception for the developers, either accidentaly or on purpose, between islam and pre-islam, so it doesn't really matter what you call the new race.
