  • Got this today on 7 inch single for 49p LOL

  • This was another "OMG-I forgot this existed" 12" that I found at my M&D's the other week - an early 80's classic on 11/11/11-enjoy! Ps unless you're beatin me door down or tryin to knick me car, I'm a pacifist - whilst I appreciate what the sacrifice has been on both sides of many wars, if everyone chose to stay home & be with their family instead of checking in with the army in any given war throughout history, there wouldn't be any need for remembrance day-would there? I peace for peace, I do

  • my dad introduced me to B Movie last year, such a good band. even though i wasn't alive in the 80s i don't understand how they never made it big.

  • Brilliant song. Whatever happened to B Movie? They should've been huge.

  • (Posted by Youtube Stream for iPhone (yst.me) on behalf of djtommulligan at twitter)

  • love and devotion

  • Only the dead have seen the end of war - Plato.

Brilliant tune, always was, always will be.

  • Great to hear his again, shame it jumps a bit towards the end - the thing I don't miss about vinyl!

  • @luckysimon7 it wasn't the vinyl jumping, it was the software I used to rip the vinyl to my old hard drive. Vinyl should not jump if you have a decent set up - it's also uncompressed like CD & MP3.

  • Um, not available on iTunes...

  • @LowBid86 Are you surprised?

  • Now there's a tune that's been in my head since the first time i heard it back in 81.

Love it. Thanks for sharing it

  • Loved this band , they filled the void for me between punk ending and Early goth starting........Great days.!!

  • Indie disco floor filler from the golden era of post-punk when anything was possible.

Bands went for it and sometimes achieved fleeting mastery of their field. This is such a complete tune.

  • This is a classic song from the early 80's. The band had some great songs and should have had more recognition

  • audio heros

  • Had this on a free flexi with smash hits and lost it. Great to hear it again.

  • Great song...believe it was on the flipside of the Nowhere Girl EP. Had to order a new belt for my Technics turntable so I can listen to these vinyl classics for another 20 years-God willing.

  • @Vercingetorix2006 Remeberance Day was a single in it's own right as well - thats what you can see in the video !

  • @colt79sigma Yes, thank you.

  • OMG, wearing a keffiyeh back in the early 80s? 0:29 Too awesome!

  • love this

  • One dislike? ...I cant accept that...this song is really amazing...this post deserves all the youtube user "likes"....GREAT SONG.

  • the best days of my life such a great era wend xx

  • great sound... *thumbs up* :)

  • terence smith played this for me all those years ago. the older i get the more i of course understand the poignancy of the song but also how much i enjoyed my youth - all those years ago. where are you tez!

  • just found 7" single in my wardrobe with all my big country ones boss to hear this again think ill invest in a record player eighties rule.

  • My God.........I bought this on single when it came out........that cover brings back memories............some bastard nicked the record I've been looking for it for yonks.I think it was last year when a 3 disc compilation came out called "The Edge of the Eighties" and it was on there............It was a poxy remake, never been so let down. But it was great to hear this original.Thanks.pity about the jump near the end but thats vinyl for ya.

  • God I'd forgotten how much I loved this song!!

  • que 4 minutos mas bien apañaos. PRECIOSIDAD

  • Does any one know the notes for this song plz?

  • @indienick2

Use to cover this in a band i was in but i played bass by ear

  • @s2trash You should have used a plectrum!

  • Comment removed

  • the faint ripped this song off.

  • @talktal more like they promoted it. if they didnt make 'southern belles in london sing' i would never have found this song

  • @talktal I used to think that too, but as it turns out The Faint actually got permission to use the progression from B-Movie, and they credit Remembrance Day in the liner notes of that album. Pretty cool of them to not take the easy route and just rip em off.

  • this is the 1st record i bought when i was 11 yeras old, brigs me nice moments from the past.....gracias"COLT79SIGMA"!!

  • If you like this check out 1981 blitz dance party as a search for a similar band playing at a new-romantic dance party in Montreal, Canada, great stuff!

  • I love this great music! So much better than today, long live 1979-1985! but especially 1981

  • i dont supose you have a copy of the music love it thanks

  • love the video

  • im surprised i can still remember the words ive been looking for this for ages classic

  • This track is a New Romantic epic. I should know, i bought it when it came out. had the flexi too.

Mark delaney has it about right

  • Nice to see that bands like White Lies have raided their parents record collections and obviously found this gem! Seem to remember having it on a flexi-disk. Remember them?

  • I'd go as far to say this is one of the best records of all time and this band deserved to be massive.

  • markdelaney, please let's not get carried away!

'Remembrance Day' is a pretty good song but there are hundreds of much better New Wave records.

I've heard 2 other versions and this one is my favourite.

I'm not sure B-Movie can be considered a New Romantic band. They sound a bit like early Spandau Ballet but that's about it.

  • Homoholic I'm entitled to my opinion as you are. If you can't accept that perhaps youtube isn't for you ?

  • Whatever. If you don't keep your opinions to yourself markdelaney, you will find that a lot of people do not share your strange ideas.

  • Got this on 7" fucking brilliant

  • i've heard a lsightly diff version- i might put it on

  • Top tune, can remember always dancing to this back in 1981 frilly shirts and baggy topped trousers...Oh dear!! still got this record though

  • this was fucking awesome very underrated band

  • didn't listen to that for years, all the memories...

  • awesome, bought it then, still love it now ! thanks :o)

  • Right on, colt79. Super song.

  • Recuerdo una versión rockcientoúnica de esta excelente rolita...muy bellos recuerdos de mi adolescencia...*****

  • Great song, still makes hair on back of my neck stand up!

Rumour has it they used to practice up at the stables where we used to keep our horses ;-)

  • i love the song!!

    wonderful!

    group up b-movie!!
