With that your probably adding about 50hp to the crank which brings the GTO to 450 crank horse which translates to about 374 hp to the wheel on the LS2 because of the IRS. Thats almost a 100hp difference between the two. Throw a S/C on the GTO, and it will be a race.
I'm glad SVT can build cars that don't get the boot from the production line in less than two years. Not to mention the most bang for the buck once you figure out how much money you'll save with an engine that already comes forged from the factory. Bolt on gt500's make around 680hp with minor bolt on's and a port job, with room left for twin screw, turbo, or nitrous. So don't give us that, " Supercharge the GTO." crap. SVT engines are built around boost, so your ls2/3 won't win a boost war stock
@bravazo777 a guy around where i live has a supercharged gto and he also has full exhaust intake TB bigger injectors cam and port and polished heads and he was only able to put down 560 to the wheels so yeah he can beat a stock sheby but not one with the things a listed a secound ago
@jdavis707070 Search video supercharged GTO vs 03 Cobra. The GTO is s/c with just 5 psi, and putting down 439 rwhp the Cobra is putting 514 rwhp, and it could not beat the GTO. The best it did was it started to slowly pull in one race, but the GTO was pretty much door to door the other two races. That GTO with just 440 at the wheel would beat the stock GT500.
My stock 05 M6 GTO went 12.97 @ 109.58 so a well driven bolt on GTO should trap 112-114 MAX. Stock GT500's were going 114-117 on the same days I was going 109 so this race looks about right maybe a better GTO driver would have helped a bit but it would still be an ass kickin'. I lost to a stock 03 Cobra by 2 cars in a 1/4 mile at Atco NJ run but the GT500's were faster stock for stock.

I completely agree with u. I was gonna buy the GT500, But it was taking to long to hit the dealerships in my area. I would have to drive down to L.A. to get one. So instead I got the GTO and I've been happy since. Shit by the time the nearest dealership had a GT500 on display. I already had H/C pushing 440whp. That was at the end of '05. Plus all the dealerships Had a 40k mark up. S.F. went insane with the mark up. at one point the GT500 was selling for 125K too much for that car.
I know this might be hard to believe. But my MPG's r the same as my Stock MPG's I average 16mpg. if I step on it all day. Then that's a different story. But you can say that about any car.

actually you might wanna check your facts. depending on what year you buy, the gt500 comes stock with 500hp. hence the 500 part in gt500. the gt500KR has 550hp and if you upgrade to the super snake edition it pushes 750hp.

Both cars are great machines. Without including price, the GT500 is faster than a stock 2006GTO. However, not a single one of you has been arguing the right points. The Mustang has to be s/c'd in order to get the result you see here. Slap FI in a stock internal bottom end GTO with a good tune and your going to need alot more than bolt ons to beat it in the Snake. There is no replacement for displacement. Thats fords downfall. Its GM's downfall for not installing FI to respond to the Cobra.

Well the rumor was a 5.0L 350ish hp motor but like i said car and driver now says a 6.2L 400+hp engine... so who knows. But for the gt500 having more valves and a supercharger look at the compression of it compared to the LS7 gt500 is 8:4 which makes it perfect for supercharging from the factory while the LS7 is like a 10:1 or somethin. If you want to look at fords ability at N/A look at the cobra R (5.4L pushing 390 as it was underrated)or the cobra concept with its 6.0L pushing 600+ hp
Well if there is a 6.2L then that version has 400 horsepower. I believe that will be the "modern" boss mustang. Not sure though. I'm sure GM could do the same as ford if they used 4V OHC setups. Yeah, the GT500's "stock" don't lay down that much but the potential from those cars with mere "tuning" is incredible. A mere CAI or pulley upgrade can wring another 50whp (or more) out of them np. I know this might be hard to believe. But my MPG's r the same as my Stock MPG's I average 16mpg. if I step on it all day. Then that's a different story. But you can say that about any car.
oh I know with out a doubt I would've beaten him. I would've been more on my toes and in a power gear. In that video I was in 4th @40mph that's like 2500rpm.

Being an owner of both a 04 cobra and now a gt500 a stock cobra is NOT faster at all than a stock GT500.....yes maybe around the same times in magazines but thats because no one can hook up with the stock tires on the gt500...from a roll a cobra would be easily beat by a gt500 stock vs stock.....

actually you might wanna check your facts. depending on what year you buy, the gt500 comes stock with 500hp. hence the 500 part in gt500. the gt500KR has 550hp and if you upgrade to the super snake edition it pushes 750hp.

Both cars are great machines. Without including price, the GT500 is faster than a stock 2006GTO. However, not a single one of you has been arguing the right points. The Mustang has to be s/c'd in order to get the result you see here. Slap FI in a stock internal bottom end GTO with a good tune and your going to need alot more than bolt ons to beat it in the Snake. There is no replacement for displacement. Thats fords downfall. Its GM's downfall for not installing FI to respond to the Cobra.

Well the rumor was a 5.0L 350ish hp motor but like i said car and driver now says a 6.2L 400+hp engine... so who knows. But for the gt500 having more valves and a supercharger look at the compression of it compared to the LS7 gt500 is 8:4 which makes it perfect for supercharging from the factory while the LS7 is like a 10:1 or somethin. If you want to look at fords ability at N/A look at the cobra R (5.4L pushing 390 as it was underrated)or the cobra concept with its 6.0L pushing 600+ hp

Well if there is a 6.2L then that version has 400 horsepower. I believe that will be the "modern" boss mustang. Not sure though. I'm sure GM could do the same as ford if they used 4V OHC setups. OHC is less moving parts and more valves is going to give you more power. GM just chooses not to, despite the fact that they can still make powerful 2V pushrod engines.

i have no clue where you are getting 3080 lbs i said the lightest gto I found weighed about 3400 lbs that was the 5.7 litter and i don't think that the 6.0 litter weighed much more. i lousy 5.7 litter only made 350 hp and the 6. litter only 400 even with that ls2 gto stock only ran mid-13s. The 4.6 litter stock mock 1s only ran low 13s and completely out

Yeah, the GT500's "stock" don't lay down that much but the potential from those cars with mere "tuning" is incredible. A mere CAI or pulley upgrade can wring another 50whp (or more) out of them np. And the engine can handle over 1000hp with forged internals. Makes me sick every time I see someone like the woman that parks one in my garage that will never see that potential..
