yes,...and a little Liang yi Chwen too! Master Gracenin's 'soft-power' is VERY decieving! Though he shows great thunder-rippling power,..you should play 'tuai-shou' with him before you pass judgement!,..(oh', and Good Luck,..lol') His control and usage of yin he' yang in push-hands is Amazing! Tai hao-le'! Coach Li
This looks like Fu style Dragon Palm. While Sifu Gracenin may not have the softness of a Victor Fu, not many do. IMO Sifu Nick has an exciting and flamboyant demonstration style and he's always entertaining on the few occasions I've seen him...more power to him. He's a true performer and great for Wushu.
oh,..o.k.,..well, I just get tired of youtubers thinking that everything that doesn't look like basic karate is not able to be used in real fight,..lol But, if someone would REALLY use Ba-Gua in SanShou, it would be fantastic!,lol' no problem,,,xie xie'
I have met Nick Laoshi on several occasions at Tony Yang's tournament. I had the opportunity to learn some zuiquan at one of his seminars. He is truly a great instructor and person.
A founding member of the Executive Board of the USA Wu Shu Kung Fu Federation and an advisor to national and international martial art organizations, Gracenin is a respected member of the martial art circles worldwide. In 2000, " Inside Kung Fu" magazine named him one of the top "100 Influential Martial Artists of the Century". As a coach he has produced 20 members of US Teams and several national champions.
This includes my karate instructors. They study under him-and I am so honored for that
Nick J. Gracenin is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University (1980) with a B.A. in Theatre Arts, Acting and directing emphasis. As Director of Nick Gracenin Martial Arts and Fitness Center, he has studied martial arts since age 12, and currently holds the record for medals won at World Championships by a member of the U.S. Chinese Martial Arts team. From 1986 - 1999, Gracenin was an Executive Committee Member of the International Wu Shu Federation in Beijing.
He's definitely NOT arrogant. He spends a lot of time explaining rules, etc. to kids at tournaments so they will know the whats and whys of rules, etc. He's been very helpful and always pleasant.
As another one of Sifu Gracenin's student, he not only taught me and my young brother Kung Fu, he taught the proper understanding of it, and his encouragement and dedication he gave to his students took me to places I never knew I could go. He is a great man and I feel honored to have been his student for 5 years.
It is amazing to read comments from people calling Sifu Gracenin "Arrogant" ! I have trained with Sifu gracenin and can say from 1st hand experience that he is anything but arrogant! It's a shame, those remarks obviously came from some very jealous, uninformed people.
I am both a practitioner of Chinese medicine and tai chi. I have trained in China--Sifu Nick not only understands kung fu movement he understands the intent. And any true practitioner, whether in Chinese medicine or martial arts, knows that intent is everything.
I've never seen Fu Zhen Song bagua in motion just pictures of Fu and descriptions of the movements. This is just what I expected,I like it alot thanks for sharing.
I agree. I have trained with Sifu Gracenin before and he is VERY well known as:"ONE OF THE FIRST NON-ASIAN TO MASTER HIS ART" People shouldn't be arrogant and dishonorable.
I can't believe someone said Sifu Gracenin 's Bagua has "poor execution" and "flowery movements"! That shows a total lack of Bagua knowledge!! I don't see that person's Bagua on video.......I guess it's obvious why that is........
Poor usage of youtube's comments. Flowery and superficial understanding of Bagua without any capability to value by watching.... Unexperienced eyes stand below their own fence.

Bagua isn't Wushu.

Wu-shu means; Martial Skills,..so, Ba-Gua 'IS' Wu-Shu/Kung-Fu !
ChineseOpera8 2 years ago
You're right. I meant Bagua has nothing in common, hardly, with Sashou, sport olympics, or theatre.
But in the literal sense, I stand corrected, Bagua is Wu-Shu.

That the "wong Fei Hung ballad", perhaps the best known and loved by the chinese themselves.

My brother took classes from Nick. He is such a talent, but a bit arrogant. Well-deserved arrogance, I'd say. But my brother still liked him.
