Russia also will see a gap in its nuclear force, aka despite their high number of warhead stockpiles they actually have a rapidly declining number of carrier systems (ICBMs, bombers,...), thus any step of increasing the necessity of more modern carrier systems puts them at a greater disadvantage than they already are due to overaging systems and slow replacement cycles.
Obviously there is also alot of tit for tat of not giving up such a strategic position for something in return.

The Spetsnaz troops are well trained - comparable to U.S., British or Canadian regular army. But compared to those 3 countries special forces, Spetsnaz are mediocre.

The number of fighter planes on US territory and thus available for defense, however, is about 2400, to compare to 1300 for Russia, and the US planes are in general much more modern and better maintained. So in a defensive situation, world vs US would be more of a 1vs5 or 1vs4. But for all big countries amphibious landing=nuke and sunk carriers=nuke, so anyway...

And you right about Chechnya BUT for the first storm of Grozny. There were about 10000 rebels and only about 6000 troops entered the city and were told not to shoot and destroy buildings BUT they still managed to clear city EVEN they were poorly of not at all trained. Russians dont want wage wars. Respect it.

Thus, US army watch closely at what they do. Due to most American not liking to support its army if there are too many innocent civilian harm accidentally or directly. The notion of the Russian Army being "professional" is a joke. They are mostly poorly trained conscripts. The lack of proper body armour is typical. Throughout history, little value was placed on the lives of individual Russian soldiers. They don't storm buildings? Small wonder that they got massacred in Chechnya. The Spetsnaz troops are well trained - comparable to U.S., British or Canadian regular army. But compared to those 3 countries special forces, Spetsnaz are mediocre.
