As for the black line: that's the t.v.'s refresh cycle. the video camera picks up things that are unseen by the naked eye. i.e. it sees things quicker than we do. the refresh rate of a t.v. or a monitor for a computer is measured in Megahertz. that appears to be an old t.v. and probably refreshes around 45Mhz, very slow. And as for the explosion, yes that is non-dairy creamer.

That's because they're shooting a TV screen. The black bar are the TV's scan lines being seen by the video camera.
