  • I love it! Very nice display!

  • what the building called wif the skull

  • very cool and spooky.

  • Thanks ! I guess it's time for me to post something newer.

  • i love this its so fun!!

  • Love your village. I have never used a fog machine--doesn't it dampen the houses?

If not, I am adding to my village.

  • Totally awesome. I'm guessing the fog is made with either batting or buffalo snow. Did you make that background, or is it a purchased one? Please do come join our Lemax Forum, and discuss your tips with us at DedicatedToLemax.

    Dave

  • Great jod with the entire village!!

I really love the fog effect and the lighting under it :)

  • I appreciate it. I used some battery operated floral led strings to get the intense light in places.

  • Great job! I do a village also but yours is awesome!

  • Hey thank you very much.

  • is that lemax??

  • 90% of the pieces are Lemax with a couple of Department 56 thrown in. This year's will be all Lemax.

  • Were did you get that stairway and platform at 1:22....?

  • I carved those out of foam blocks and put finishing touches on with a dremel before painting with acrylics.

  • this is amazing, I do villages and I am impressed!!!!

  • Thanks I appreciate that !

  • I was also curious to know...what is done to create the fog effect? Is it similar to batting material?

  • I'd love to have the background that you have in your video. Would you by chance be willing to share...or at least let me know where you found them.

Nothing has come close to comparing to your display, and the background really makes it fantastic.

  • Hi there! WOW - what a great job you did this year! From one Spooky Town collector to another, I certainly know how much time and work you put into this, and I love it! Just DON'T let happen to you what has happened to me - - I have collected pretty much ALL of the pieces, and now I am too lazy to display it all! I need to get off my but and just do it! Thanks for sharing! :)

  • Thanks ! and you're so right about keeping the boxes. I've thrown many away to save space and as a result I break out the crazy glue every October.

  • mine break too damn much...

Most of them are lemax. I got the galleon, Doesn't rock back and forth anymore.

I have the lighthouse, Beacon flickers, the skulls eyes don't light up, and the fogger doesn't work. An then there is the torcher factory, which doesn't work at all.

    Help please.

  • Hi - a couple of things on this. First of all, as you continue to collect Spooky Town, ALWAYS make sure that you test your pieces as soon as you get home. Michael's is GREAT about exchanges and refunds. Second of all, it is SO important to always store your pieces in their original packing when not is use. These pieces are extremely fragile.

  • I sympathize with you. I've experienced the same thing with pieces breaking down after a couple of years, including the galleon.

With mine I found it was usually a broken contact within the switch and I was able to take it apart and re-attach with solder or (crudely) with some hot glue.

You might consider getting some AA battery powered floral led lights to put in a piece that doesn't light up anymore. Good luck.

  • I LOVE the lighting! Nice Job! That is so COOL! I'm not even going to start one! LOL I also do this as a hobby, but mine is a Christmas Village and it grows every year. :) If you get a chance check out my 'Polar Express Christmas Village' video.

  • WANT. (how much did this all cost?)

  • Well I've been adding a couple of new Lemax pieces a year since 2000. I guess with lights, foam and miscellaneous materials it's around $1500 now.

  • Cool!

  • Absolutely LOVE the setup. The Midnight Syndicate soundtrack is a nice touch too!

  • I appreciate it.

  • Awesome display! Are these Lemax pieces? Could you tell me where you got the background from please?

  • Thanks ! All but a couple are lemax pieces but the background I made in photoshop using various stock photos and imagery I found online, then printed it out full size.

  • If there is ANY WAY that you would be willing to share your photoshop files of this backdrop, I would be eternally grateful. You did such a gorgeous job!

  • your very welcome!

  • omg i have that music you are playing and your setup is soooooooooo cool very good work

  • Hey thanks !

  • Yeah, everytime I hear it it really takes me back.

  • Hey John,

Very cool. I love the "fog" effects. Great Job!!

  • Thanks Bruce ! You're village is fantastic, I felt like I was there and nice to hear the Disney soundtrack again.
