for some reason the whole theory doesn't work with this poem. it just roots itself more deeply within me every time i hear it. The gravity in the home may be gone but phil's words ground me :)
My mother taught me this trick, when you repeat something over and over, it loses its meaning. But it doesn't work with this performance... the more i repeat it, the greater its meaning becomes :'(
He & Sarah performed at my high school today & I loved every minute of it. I watched them perform during my 1st & 3rd blocks & I wouldnt have minded watching there performance 1 more time. They're great :)
I technically don't have a stutter but I have a lot of trouble speaking to others and mess up my words frequently. My parents are always fighting because my dad cheated on my mom and I feel like the love in our family is gone. I love this so much. It's so relevant to my life. It feels as if he took everything out of my soul and worded it perfectly.
I love this so much. My stutter is paralyzing and I love the face he used to have one. It makes me think I could do something like this and learn to fix it.
Repetition can make anything feel normal, but nothing ever truly loses its meaning. Is that it? At any rate, this is beautiful, very possibly my favorite of yours.
I have this on repeat and yet it hasn't lost its meaning.

I love, absolutely love, how he self-references within poems. He builds up themes and winds them back together again at the end.

I feel the music at the end is very misplaced. A very upbeat dance-y following to a serious, heartfelt poem.
Regardless. Amazing poem.
