I've always thought this song had Grateful Dead written all over it, though written by Ryan Adams. This song as well as Easy Plateau...Come to think of it the whole Cold Roses album has some Grateful Dead influences. Maybe that's why it's my favorite Ryan Adams/Cardinals album.

I never knew that! It totally makes sense now that you pointed it out! "Rosebud shipwrecked up on the Ohio" and Rosebud is in a glass case in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland Ohio. The lead guitar on Rosebud reminds me of Dark Star, not just the tone of the guitar, but something in the notes or the melody. You're right about it showing up with the cardinals more so than Ryan's solo stuff. Thanks for sharing!

What a beautiful rendition. I used to go to Dead shows in the 1972-1980 time frame. This performance captures the same magic of those shows; only difference is that this lady can really, really sing.
