We really have to be grateful for life and everything we have. These are poor people and they can afford a smile whereas the rich are grumpy and want even more. We should appreciate what we have.
all these fuckinh whities walking around to see how it looks its not a fucking holiday park stupid people go there to watch and then what you do help them? no the go home to there nice house in there nice life with there good food and clean water shame on you white people like to see this and talk about it but maby the should put there money in to help idiots walking aroun with camera taping everything for later to show your on children lok how good we have it here hahaha idiots
I also visited Kibera, I saw exactly the same features. I also experienced very simular things, kids running arroung "how are you," and small children being sick. The experience of the visit is very lifechanging, because you realize the values of your life and any kind of values. And as greatly said in the video, mostly long term actions help because sending in food will help for a certain ammnount of time and the will run out and everything will be back to what it was.
you You can patent anything no matter how stupid the idea is. they even have a patent for destroying hurricane. Hurricanes, earthquakes, volcanoes.... are acts of God no man can stop them. the truth is cures for Aids and cancer do not exist.
Aids and cancer are so difficult to cure. The HIV virus that causes AIDS uses the human cells to make it's 'babies'. to cure AIDS it means that you have to destroy all these human cells i.e kill the person. As for cancer no one knows what causes it. it's like fighting a ghost. secondly, cancer occurs when the bodies cells refuse to die. can you imagine if all your ancestors were still alive, the world would be FULL of people. that is how cancer cells behave.
Can't argue any of that. My point is the origins. Like how they injected AIDS into blacks & homosexuals, Bayer knowing spreading AIDS in Hemophiliac medicine. The history of adjuvants & preservatives: thimerosal, squalene, mercury. Suppression of technology.
Our own Govt. spreading bio- weapons in New York & got caught & fined. & Now we get to deal with PDD 51 & being quarantined like they did w/ the Japanese Americans In WW2, for a flu that Novartis had a patent pending 4 the vaccine in 2007.
like to know the population of people dont have their land and the % land that is used for commercial crops to be exported. i understand that 90% of the forest has been destroyed just in the last 3 or so decades. this would lead to this kind of living where people have been moved from the way that they could and use to live and trying to fit their lives in a differnt way without all of the provisions that go with that. we take from around the world and don't compensate for wht we take.
Having lived in Kenya for a good number of years, i see this video as a perfect and objective depiction of the unacceptable situation in Kibera slum. I have been there several times and I have good friends living there, so I understand their situation. congrats to these guys who produced this piece.
And we complain when our AC or heater doesn't work, we complain because our 2000sq foot home is too small, we complain that our TV is too small. Look around people, we here in the US have nothing to complain, even our worst "slums" is paradise compared to slums like Kibera. Next time you complain about your home, think of this.
I would encourage EDUCATORS to show this video to their students. Educators have the social responsibility to address social, ethnic, gender, and socioeconomic inequalities: globally and nationally. You may can instruct your students to post their comments in here. This is just one example of what educators can do to motivate the students to think about diversity and globals issues.
I think this is sad, but i think we should all live like this for a week. You will realize that life doesnt matter about how many pairs of shoes or hats you have. What matters is living life with thankfulness that you are alive, and have a home
My younger sister (18) is currently in Kenya and they just finished up their time spent in Kibera. It's amazing that there is often times more joy and excitement among such financially "poverty stricken" societies and communities. It seems as if the lack of material possessions (distractions) allows people to connect with and rely upon one another a whole lot more.
It doesn't allow nothing. The ability to rely on each other, and in varying degrees, is present in every human being, rich or poor, sadic or saint. It is part of our survival instinct.
In times of need, it is a very usefull trait, enabling us to work as a team in an easier and more efficient way.
Someone who sees this "community spirit" as the "good side" of that humanitarian catastrophe is embellishing it. Poor people connect because they NEED to, because they are FORCED to, by their survival instinct. That's nothing beautiful in that, you should open your eyes, come out of fairy land and begin to see some truth.
It seems that they are, because they aren't attached to material things like having a nice home, toys, etc. I think they really have a tremendous inner-capacity knowing what it's like to rely on your own self.
education is the key.from building toilet facilities,to birth control and hiv/aids prevention.Every government in every country should be held responsible for the standard of living of all of its citizens, not just the wealthy.that includes the US and the UK- there are children suffering in these countries too.Maybe we should all start a little closer to home to try to eradicate poverty and suffering before we go all over the world sorting out everyone elses problems?
During the sad events in Kenya, Kibera took the image of Soweto.

You know the situation is bad when the Ancient Greeks from thousands of years ago lived in much better conditions

We'll never be rid of AIDS, especially with companies like Bayer & Baxter Pharmaceuticals knowingly shipping out infected medicine around the world.
Not to mention that there is both a patent to make AIDS & also a cure registered at the U.S. patent office.
ParkerTerrace 2 years ago
Just go to US patent website:
patft (.) uspto (.) gov
go to "patent number search"
Aids Patent: 4647773
cure patent: 5676977
messed up isn't it?

its hilarious that a video like dolphin massacre can get some much response but an issue like this is just unheard of for the common citizen.
