  • I am doing an experiment on this. what chemicals did u mix and wat are the quantities? cuz i can't find any good sites.

  • Where can someone found these Sodium sulphite, potassium iodate etc??

  • Damn magic, you scary!

  • are there any non lethal combos that you can do with this? using everyday supplies, (Not sulphuric acid?)

  • @Drake5138 Your mouse too apparently, considering you clicked the comments box.

  • cool...

  • Haha, I've seen this, its really cool. But, I also saw a WAY cooler one, that I can't find anywhere. It was like this, but the guy added one different thing, but I can't find the formula for it.... It not only turned purple like this, but it slowly turned gold after, and then back to purple, and it would repeat this for about 5 minutes! THAT is cool!

  • @XUnnamedX Are you talking about this? /watch?v=Ch93AKJm9os

  • @XUnnamedX1 watch?v=QdscFBvdTLg&feature=related

  • @XUnnamedX1 You may be referring to the Briggs-Rauscher Reaction

  • @iluvskullduggery1 haha,ding dong,havnt heard that in a while

  • drink it

  • Is this sulfuric acid and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2 and H2SO4) ??

  • @sika241124 no. It's evil gypsy alchemy.

  • What is a starch indicator, and how's it used in this experiment? I'd like to conduct this experiment myself

  • @nirvanafan7777 starch indicator is a liquid that changes in appearance when starch is present. you just pour the indicator solution in the solution that you are testing for starch in.

  • just like magic

  • We're going to be doing this in Chemistry. Looks pretty cool!

  • i dont think it was sped up at all. i watched a guy do this on Ellen and it was instant, just like these.

  • i did this in science today XD

  • @mcrluv93 So...how does it work?

  • @sweetbutdaring

A solution of hydrogen peroxide is mixed with one containing potassium iodide, starch and sodium thiosulfate. After a few seconds the colourless mixture suddenly turns dark blue

  • Pretty funky... sooo fast tho compared mine which like ukmuscle08's were slow...and yh im doing it for c/w too...

  • Been doing these for coursework. \i must have a shitty technique as it isn't a typical instant colour shift, it just morphs over a second or two.

  • lol i did this in chem and i swear it was impossible to tell when it was gonna happen

  • that's so cool :D

  • interesting...
