Kefka is quite literally the saddest kind of person. He's incapable of feeling love or joy. The only joy he finds in life is in pain, that's why he laughs at people who are hurt or dying, it makes him happy. Kefka doesn't comprehend that people don't want to be destroyed, nothing can convince him that he is wrong for hurting people.

Kefka is an insane, nihilistic mass murderer. His backstory gives you a basis for his origin, but it never justifies his actions.

The greatest villains should never invoke sympathy or understanding. You should hate them, fear them, be repulsed by them, and above all else: you should want to stop them as soon as possible.

I do like Terra and Kefka but the dissidia version of the two seem different from what I saw them as in Final Fantasy VI. Kefka is too much about fun in this, I don't remember him talking about fun in the game, merely that he found fun in destruction.Terra was also more strong willed in my mind :/

Guess with games back then with only sprites and dialouge many different things could be seen. :)

Kefka is so different in Dissidia than he was in FF6. It's like Square-Enix lost all the previous developers who made the FF1-FF6 games and just read biography.

Kefka is all about "I WANT TO DESTROY EVERYTHING!!!111" when in reality he's a bit more intelligent and chaotic then have a random urge to destroy everything. Compare how he is in Dissidia to this famous line here:

"Life...dreams...hope...Where do they come from? And where do they go? Such meaningless things...I'll destroy them all!"

@Zeemis Really all we're looking at is different interpretations of someone based on the Japanese dialogue. "Such meaningless things... I'll destroy them all!" vs. "None of that junk is enough to fulfill your heart! DESTRUCTION! Destruction is the only thing that makes life worth living!" In the original game they had limited space, they couldn't put the longer version of what Kefka was meant to say, the Kefka who is sad about having no purpose is closer to the original than the rage filled one.

When you do that it kind of becomes a reference to Dancing Mad. lol Kefka's one of the best VG villains out there, it's hard to beat a nihilistic physcopathic god of magic whose hellbent on destroying everyone and everything.

Kefka is under rated. Ever since FF7 came out, Sephiroth stole Kefka's spotlight. Sephiroth is better, in my and most of the FF fanbases opinion, but Kefka still put a great mark in Final Fantasy history. He become quite popular for all the evil he does in the game. He turns Terra in mindless slave and makes her kill innocent people, poisons a castle's water supply (which also kills a number of his own men), kills a likable character that would have joined you if he lived, and he destroys the world in it's current form, releasing hoards of monsters into the world. Terra, for a time, actually loses her will to fight because of what Kefka does.
