He speaks a clear truth just as V does

  • Wow I can't believe people are just chatting in the parliament while business in proceeding. These politicians have no respect for their own parliament!

  • Makes me sick. Incompetence is such a horrendous vice. Something most politicians seems to be afflicted by. Stop wasting money! Stop creating legislation the majority of "regular people" wouldn't support! ... It's mind-boggling.

  • Who are the rude idiots standing right next to him?

  • go Daniel

  • I can't believe the noise you had to talk through. What an absolute shower! And that woman at the end, how much more inconsiderate can you get?

  • Seems like a shoddy way of conducting things.

But then it is the EU after all.

  • America's Federal Reserve is guilty of the same thing.

  • Keep it up Daniel. Good stuff again.

But I think this showed in a literal sense what's been happening all along. Nobody is listening. ;-(

  • EU parlament is a kindergarden.

Why cant people be silent when someone is speaking?

  • I'm Very Sorry that Dan is likely wasting his breath - like talking to the wind.

Can ANYONE change the eu for the BETTER?

  • I think "no." It may seem strange that though they're elected locally, they act & think in a maximally centralized manner, but I think that's what most are bound to do. No run-of-the-mill politician seeks an office so as to often be stopped by the thought "let's leave this to the people individually or to the states we come from, it's not our business" but rather hold office to maximize claims of achievement.

Thus the Euro Parliment is a mistake & should be abolished, like the US Federal Govt

  • You sound very JUDGMENTAL. I'm guessing you are NOT a USA citizen.

USA fed gov simply needs to FOLLOW the CONSTITUTION. Are you Familiar with it?

  • I was born a US citizen, as were my father and mother. I am very familiar with the Federal Constitution and with the history of the United States. And I consider that history has shown the futility of mere paper barriers to governmental power. The same government which is supposedly bound by that document is in charge of interpreting it. Ever since Americans lost The War To Prevent Southern Independence, the last strong barrier to expansion of centralized power, the States, has fallen forever.

  • Progressives (radical liberals) have been trying to DESTROY USA for about 100 years, but CONSERVATIVES will continue to stop them, as REAGAN did.

Lame Stream Media will NOT show what is REALLY happening.

ANYONE who does NOT see FOX NEWS is being kept IGNORANT by CENSORED PROPAGANDA.

  • Conservatives have not, & to judge from their behavior under Bush & now, will not stop them, but have supported grave injuries to the Constitution. They laughed at Habeas Corpus, creating a new category of persons w/o rights--"unlawful combatant." And not the rule of law (for terrorism is a federal crime, by law triable in federal court) but the discretion of the Attorney General now decides in what court KSM et al. shall be tried. FOX NEWS etc have been AGAINST the Constitution on this matter.

  • Paine & Jefferson show how far conservatives are from their spirit:

"An avidity to punish is always dangerous to liberty. It leads men to stretch, to misinterpret, and to misapply even the best of laws. He that would make his own liberty secure must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself."--Thomas Paine, Dissertations on First Principles of Government 1790

  • REAGAN Conservatives have come to the FOREFRONT since 01-2009 - they WILL WIN in11-2010. You do know REAGAN PRINCIPLES?

  • "I consider [trial by civilian jury] as the only anchor ever yet imagined by man, by which a government can be held to the principles of its constitution.--Thomas Jefferson to Thomas Paine, 1789

The US conservative media have been loudly declaiming jury trial for the accused terrorists. They take their guilt for granted based on stories originating from government officials & think giving 12 people who are independent of govt fear or favor the chance to judge for themselves is being too nice.

  • Conservatives are MUCH MORE CONSERVATIVE NOW than last year.

Our AG is a RADICAL LEFTIST, along with ALMOST ALL the EXECUTIVE BRANCH now.

There will be HUGE PROTESTS in NYC, as well as other places in USA.

  • "Conservatives are MUCH MORE CONSERVATIVE NOW than last year"-That's unintentionally hilarious. It tells me they have no stable principles regarding liberty: when in power, they abuse it, when out, they're "more conservative."

Holder is enabled by an expansion of govt power begun by Bush: Instead of the Constitution's 4th & 5th Amts determining the law of trial of crimes by jury, HE gets to arbitrarily decide what right to trial you have. They have no problem with his power, just his choice.

  • You are so VERY FAR AWAY to presume to KNOW all the DETAILS - you don't, e.g. thinking the ag is popular - he has never been. You seem to enjoy writing a JUDGMENTAL BOOK. I hope you like Australia - it is too socialist and secular for me.

  • Four words, "Go suck a cock!"

    This concludes today's lesson :)

  • Yeah, best not make an argument, it would hurt your brain too much.

  • I will not bandy crooked words with such a frightful dream :)

You are like oil, I would rather see you become a salad dressing than set you alight.

As Bertrand Russell did, so shall I, your table shall not find itself blessed by my presence.

  • Jefferson, who penned the Kentucky & Virginia resolutions w its doctrine of State nullification of unconstitutional laws, would have agreed. He wrote "to consider the judges as the ultimate arbiters of all constitutional questions [is] a very dangerous doctrine indeed and one which would place us under the despotism of an oligarchy...that their decisions . . . become law by precedent, sapping by little and little the foundations of the constitution, and working its change by construction."

  • You wouldn't be here if you weren't an arse hole, nor would I

  • You haven't "bandied" anything substantial, your words are empty of any content but invective, conceit & derision. Since you say your words will be, as they've been so far, crooked, it's good you shut up.

"You wouldn't be here if you weren't an arse hole, nor would I"

Speak for yourself. I was arguing with 3martijns whether American conservatives have shown themselves solid friends of the Constitution. That does not make one "an arse hole." But saying apropo of nothing "Go suck cock!" DOES.

  • Your fury amuses me, for I care little of your politics, I simply wish to end your debate :)

It has no place here and though I even agree with some of your points, you and I are both still arse holes!

Simply being here makes us the lowest of scum :)

  • Though you want to hide it by saying you care little of my politics, it seems you do actually care about ideas concerning liberty (I take it that's what you mean when you say "I even agree with some of your points") & in my book that makes you far from being an arse hole or the lowest of scum. How I amuse you, what you want to call me matters little next to that.

Pls don't be so contemptuous of what each little person does. I realize commenting here is trivial. But liberty is advanced 1 by 1.

  • Liberty is the freedom to be an arse hole if one wishes and when you look at the patriot act, you cant help but wonder for how long that will be.

But the patriot is a minor enemy of liberty compared to the European Union which is the biggest threat to western liberty in this day and age, When you are in the British position, when you cannot trust any political party, you might see why I test people so....not that I do it often, only I was interested to see an American (I assume) on a Hannan Vid.

  • I couldn't agree with you more. When governments combine, it's only to press their mutually coordinated plans on their subjects all the more inescapably, in behalf of govt privileged interests that also don't like competition.

The EU is for you as the US govt is for me. Though I sympathize a bit with conservatives like 3martijns who think appeal to the Constitution's a refuge from omnipotent govt, I believe the gov it spawned can't be bound by mere words, so I'm for Secession & Market Anarchy.

  • Do you understand why I approached you as I did?

  • Actually no. How does it work as a test?

  • Because, if you had tried to make me leave the discussion or ignored me, then you would be exhibiting the exact same standards of those who have no real understanding or respect for freedom.

The fact that I was so an annoying and incoherent yet you were still willing to argue with me shows that you have the right mentality to argue with our common enemy, because you can be sure that they will act in a similar way

It also tests you devotion to liberty, how far you will go for a lost cause

  • Ha ha, well met! You should call yourself some name reminiscent of the Scarlet Pimpernel, your disguise was so good. Of course, no S. P. worth his salt would take such advice.

I've had long experience with annoying & incoherent opponents here, mostly "libertarian socialists." I changed no minds, just got educated in their arguments.

The cause may be lost, but I'd still rather follow Mises's motto & example: Never give into evil, but proceed ever more boldly against it.

    Peace, bro!

  • I prefer Churchill and Voltaire to the same end.

You cannot change a mind over the internet unless you have something so hard hitting they cannot help but take heed of it.

But what you can do is keep chipping away until you get something of a small victory, the more you make people feel like arse holes, the less they will want to argue.

  • Thank you for speaking up for the people of Britain Daniel.

  • It sounds like no one is listening because they're all talking and doing their own thing. Pretty rude if you ask me.

  • Ron Paul of EU :)

  • Sure is! A voice of reason in an ocean of corruption
