  • So does it generate enough thrust to get off the ground?

  • Hello cinquade, Yes indeed - check out the other videos. Still in testing, but roughly 35% of power brought the machine off the ground (without pilot). This is with the 28.5 HP Rotax. Now its in the sit-down model/frame, using a 35 HP Vortex Super ROK. The rotors are also longer now. Basic numbers figured on HP, rpm, rotor disk, this machine - with 175 pound pilot will leave the ground at about half of the engine's power. Just a bit more building and testing. Machine will be flying this Spring.

  • what kind of motor are you using?

  • Started with a used Rotax FR125 Max - which is a great and powerful motor, but just switched to a brand new $3,650 Vortex Soper ROK engine from Italy. 35 HP from a very small & tight 52 pound running package. We are now on the sit-down model frame with this new motor and should see fantastic results.

  • COOL TRIPOD

  • Thanks, lacokai !!

  • this would be even cooler if it was electric :D

  • Yes, that would be possible - but at this time in technology - VERY expensive !!

  • @MikeUSA777 Good to see you responding to comments! Let us know you're surviving the tests. ;-)

  • LOL !! ..... Things have been slow with progress. Too much real "work" going on. Should have a new video soon with the sit-down model and initial flight testing on it in late Spring if all goes as planned !

  • what kind of engine did you use? and how much horse power does it have?

  • can you tell me how much it cost you to make it?

  • Hello, That is a tough question, given the fact A LOT of trial, error, testing, modifications, etc. to get things right over the last few years went into it - adds up to a lot of money. That said, with the PROPER materials, motor, rotors and gear, along with a general set of plans & guidelines, you're looking at about $8,600. The hub is the EXTREME tricky part - getting one made from scratch to run perfectly.

  • 您好!我可以像您買主旋葉制動器轉子嗎?我的E-MAIL: kuowengi99@gmail.com

  • @destruct2construct lol im guessing youll be having plenty of international flights as well, mostly below southern border. ;)

  • You are right, the coaxial design setup is a very safe and easy flying design. Scaled up, the sit-down version (Video #5), would be an easy one to transport multiple passengers in............. Won't be cheap, but possible !

  • Very good! I wish I had your expertise! Does it actually fly? I would love one like that if it really flies!

  • Thank you. We have not moved to the "flight" with pilot yet. we have switched to the sit-down design now and will be testing soon. Same hub / coaxial configuration, just in a safer sit-down style. It will fly, however, once we have everything hooked up.

  • Yes - but will his head blend ?

  • ..................Uh, No. Heavy guitar playing and drugs will, though. That's why I stick to this form of hobby.

  • Hi,

Would it be possible to get the plans of this machine?

    Thank you,

    Leonardo.

  • Sorry, had an email problem - email me direct at mkreid@epix.net .

  • I must say I admire you for your work. You are obviously a very smart guy. I am on my 3rd plane now and it's funny how people really don't get it... even airplane people. I can't imagine how nuts people think you are :) Nice work!

  • Hi, @buzzy1147 ..Thank you very much for the compliments and the encouragement. It is very greatly appreciated. You also, obviously, know the time and effort it takes to attempt projects like this. It is amazing - I have actually had people wish me "dead" after watching this video.. These projects, like ANYTHING in life have boundries and limitations. Idiots like those who have a problem with all this should just sit back and remain quiet. Those SAME idiots said the same for the Wright brothers

  • Make it extend from your hat, like inspector gadget.

  • LONG LIVE THE GENIUS OF FREE HUMANITY!

  • It's a real tragedy that people like this don't get the appreciation they deserve. Nowadays people are all gaga about lady gaga but not who was once and should still be the REAL celebrities, THE INVENTORS and INNOVATORS, the kind of people who BUILT AMERICA! This is cool, I'm glad to see people engaged in research and development in this kind of technology.

  • Well, @libertyphoenix777, Thank you very much for the very kind words & encouragement! It is greatly appreciated ! :-)

  • @libertyphoenix777 not to worry long after Lady Gaga is forgotten,we always remember the movers and makers that have made the world a better place. Celebrities are entertainers, they have little impact on the world,a few have used their faces and money to help those in need, they will be remembered for their acts of kindness, not thier songs,or movies.

  • @inagod I hope so, the world is really messed up right now, for more info on that visit infowars.com

  • @libertyphoenix777 Well fucking said!

  • @libertyphoenix777 u was doing ok until you said america

  • ........Still upset over that whole revolution thing in 1776, huh? .... LOL ......

  • @riru69 You're right. Replace the word America with THE WHOLE WORLD! There have been many great pioneers in ALL NATIONS! Thanks for bringing that up!

  • Would you be willing to share with me some information regarding the construction of this helicopter? I've wanted to build one for quite some time, but would rather gleen knowledge from someone who has built one, so as not to make stupid mistakes. Check out my video's at; rocketguy06.

  • Hi Brian, email me direct at mkreid@epix.net.

  • Now I know who stole the engine of my Go Kart.

    Rotax 125 SR

  • it need some kind of protective cage or bubble. this idea is just to dangerous. nobody wants to risk beign decapitated. what ever design you use it must protect youre body from a rotor strike. NOthing worth losing youre head over

  • ................... You should understand the dynamics of helicopters before suggestions like yours. "Protective bubbles", as you put it, are for environmental conditions on most ALL VTOL. These small helos are like handguns (we are allowed to have them here in the USA). You can safely shoot a handgun for years, but the second you put the barrel in your mouth and pull the trigger - not expecting to loose your head, is the day you should have sought councelling anyway. Its about common sense.

  • @MikeUSA777 I think he means that if you would fall or something

  • @MikeUSA777 man!i lkie you check him my man!

  • @MikeUSA777

All very well, Speak us again once you're missing some digits or limbs from being lazy or careless just once.

  • That is why you should stick to playing your tennis with the rest of the girls, @faultyservice. ......LOL....

  • You appear to express some concerns regarding the motor and differential giving out, failing, as being the reason that this will never be anything more than a back yard hedge hopper. What are the possibilities of improving on those and really making something out of this. Are these FAA regulated ? and do you hold a patent on the device ?

  • Man, you really got to watch the blade clearance. Pop your head up at the wrong time and it's all over.

  • That is true ................ no different than ignoring those "Edge Of Cliff" signs, going 120 mph on snow covered roads, or skydiving with no parachute............ its all a matter of common sense and awareness :-)

  • @Nomoreidsleft

not all over,it "ll be more like free haircut with posible head removal at no extracharge

  • hello there, I would like to use this thing to go to work every day. I live in Prague city of hunderts towers Czech Republic Europe so it can be dangerous but anyway it seems to be fastest transport for cities with over milion inhabitants. Is it possible buy parts or complete heli?

  • Hello, Unfortunately, this micro-helicopter is not made for long distances or altitude. Flights are pretty much limited to 15 minutes and NO MORE than 30-feet altitude. This is a recreational "fun" flyer - to cruise around fields, over small obsticles, hedge-rows,etc. It would never make it as a commuter craft in any way. Sorry !!

  • BUILD A FRAME AND PUT 3,4 ON

  • Hey Mike-

Good on ya for your effort getting to know how this group operates.

Makes you intimately knowledgeable about the internals of these type of groups.

Another Hitler generation is here and coming.

Proud to be on your team

    -Christian

  • Thanks Vondeliusc ! Glad you agree and are on the team yourself. You are VERY right in your statement. The groups like Aryan Nations have not dissapeared - They are in the woods now, planning and preparing for very bad things. The face of hate has changed drastically. A majority of them have, unfortunately, become smarter in their goals and mission.

  • I am sure it will fly.

But, you know the StayPuft Marshmallow man?-I recommend you wear his suit.

And I am sure it will autorotate RILL good (not).

Ber sure and stick to the old hang gliding rule: Don't fly any higher than you are willing to fall (AND be driven into the ground afterwards by the meat chopping blades). Good luck.

    Just be careful..

  • Thanks much vondeliusc ! Good words of advise for sure ! ..........LOL.

  • Make a hanger to hold the larger battery under the seat!

  • Nope .................. Got everything just about perfectly ballanced as it is now and I don't have those wires running half a mile to my seat area :-)

  • please tell me where you got your contra-rotating prop

  • Not sure if you are talking about the actual props? or the hub assembly that spins them? The props are IVO-Prop special order 84" Ultralight props in both right & left turn. The hub assembly was professionally built at a machine shop on specifications given with the project. Hope this helps...............

  • Absolutely awesome! Give us an idea how much you have invested in this hobby. And other tips, like where did you get aircraft grade aluminum, the engine, the propellers, and how did you get the right "size" props? Not being an engineer, I've been watching all the Hiller videos, flying platform videos, Gen 4 videos, etc, and have become an addict. Thanks for sharing so much detail in your project!!

  • ........... Oh, Engine - I used the same engine Franz Schoffmann uses in his helo - Rotax FR125 Max Kart motor. 28.5 HP. I might be switching to a higher HP Vortex Super ROK or Swiss Auto 250, however, once I get more testing in.

  • Hello MrTallJohn,

In the short - $4,700 invested in the helo. I did all the work except for the hub. Aircraft Alum - Aircraft Spruce & Specialty Co. Great place !! Props - IVOProp Corp. Speak to Ron - great guy. They are IVO 84" Ultralight blades. Glad to see you are addicted - I got that way too !!! If interested in more details, message me and I can send you a TON of info, pics, details, etc...

  • I've already watch your video #5 waiting for your next video its make me motivated so much ....hope you can help someday for some question because me and my dad were planning to make also we all have the idea but the only problem we encounter is that we dont know if the 100cc RS yamaha 2 stroke can drive the rotor. also the blade we dont know what proper material to use...

  • Awesome!!! I can't wait for the next vid! Do you have collective control or do you adjust your altitude with the throttle?

  • Thanks, pmdnslj...................

No collective - as you suspected, this is a very basic low-flight machine - the throttle is the only control for altitude. New video should be here in just a few days as long as the winds from huricane Earl's winds don't hold me back from more testing Monday !

  • wow, Mike! Looks great!

  • Thanks Larry !! Should have another video run-up test this weekend if that darn storm doesn't mess with it ! ........... Wish I had your toys - nice work you're doing !!

  • i can't wait see you flying now....can i ask when will you upload your next video and see flying?

  • Hello from America ....................... If all goes well, I should be able to get some more testing done this coming week. Things have been too busy lately for any real testing lately. I've made a few changes and I'll show them in the next video !

  • QUICK QUESTION : in the event of an engine failure at 500 ft can you still made it safely to the ground ???

  • Hello stealthy1, At 500 feet, an engine failure will equal absolute death. This mini-copter should never be flown over 30 or 40 feet MAX. This little craft is for flying around through fields, hoping over hedge-rows, or low obsticles - basically, just buzzing around low-level. To push beyond this, a larger more conventional helo should be sought after.

  • Hi Mike! This is really fantastic! Carefully continue. Keep us informed about groundhandling an testing. This is really exiting and cannot wait to see more. I wish you good luck and most enjoyable and safe testflights and -floats : )

  • Thanks much my friend, Don't worry - I'll be moving slow. So far, vibration is quite minimal - extremely low as rpm's increase. No heating in the hub and she seems to be pulling straight up as she starts to leaves the ground (with no pilot weight - at 5,300 rpm). Again, this was the first day out. I'll keep updates coming .................

  • Nice.

  • Thanks much !!
