  • There is no such thing as a freshwater moray eel they need at least brackish to full out salt. Why don't you feed him frozen foods?

  • @1988yingyang their is suck thing as a fresh water moray and they are called "Gymnothorax tile"

  • I heard if you keep them in straight fresh water to long they will stop eating. They would perfer brackish water at 1.005 salinity.

  • G Tile? I've seen very small ones with similar coloration but there are a few small brackish varieties.

  • i had five eels they didnt take any food either live or frozen or sticks. died after three weeks after purchase

  • how many are in there?

  • are they in fresh water or do Eels have to be in salt water?

reason i ask is when i go fishing i ketch them all the time and have to let them go and in some areas we are told to kill them cause they over populate the area and fish dont have a chance i would probable keep one as a pet in my fresh water talk is it can live in it

  • it depends on what kinda eels u are catching

  • Moray Eels and there caught in salt water was just wondering if they could live in salt water

  • if they were caught in salt water then they live in saltwater

  • actually many moray eels start their life as freshwater and eventually move into saltwater. if you cant your eels in some tributary tto the ocean then i guess your set on keeping one in freshwater just when it gets bigger dont let it go euthenize it. you dont want to be spreading tank deseases to the ocean

  • Those things are mean. I saw a guy get his thumb bitten off by one.
