  • I'm Scottish but i support the Boks.. i learnt the anthem before the last world cup.. my friends think i'm weird for knowing it but i'm just a big fan of the side, hoping they can retain the title ... BOKKE!

  • Why does Australia not recognize their locals on their national anthem, like NZ? it is a disgrace.

  • I seriously think I was meant to be south african.

  • @SarahLee1 me too

australian but half south african :) gladly

  • Everything seems so easy for Claire

  • the guy singing backround vocals sounds like Ras Dumisani?

  • Love the passion of Corne Krige right at the end...that's what anthems should be made of..England take note!

  • Jesus I am Scottish and I got Goosebumps when she sang Nkosi Sikeleli Africa.

    Great National Anthem EVER.

    God Bless South Africa.

  • yeah, she did a brilliant job, well done claire johnston :)

  • Well, actually, she said "see" and "gee" wrong. In Dutch-Afrikaans, this sounds really different than how she pronounced it!

So it wasn't flawless. But she has a very nice voice though.

  • Oh, i meant the Aussie anthem, i'm not enitrely sure about the south african anthem so i prefer not to comment

  • @oranjuh what are you on about so the intonations were not PERFECT but then I challenge you to find any singer that is phonetically correct. Plus what does Dutch have to do with anything, this is Afrikaans. It is akin to a Danish person telling an Englishman that he is not pronouncing window correctly (look it up window comes from Danish).

  • @uChakide Not the intonations but PRONOUNCATIONS weren't perfect. I speak Dutch and Afrikaans fluently so i KNOW these words are pronounced differently as the singer sings them. As well in Dutch as in Afrikaans these words are pronounced the same. Would you mind if YOUR antehm is NOT sang properly?!

Danish and English aren't as close to eachother as Dutch and Afrikaans. You know nothing, better keep your mouth shut dude.

  • @oranjuh You twit, it IS my anthem and the INTONATION IS what she missed ... in two of the words out of a hundred or two! FYI intonation is part of pronunciation, honestly think before you make a fool of yourself.

Again I ask you; what does Dutch have to do with anything here? The languages are closely related but they can differ greatly in their pronunciation. Who cares if you can speak Dutch, I can speak three Germanic languages doesn't mean I can speak German.

  • @uChakide whatever smart ass. You think you all figured it out, yet you don't know shit. You just can't say I'm right, yet you know I am. Whatever for me twit, enjoy your anthem sang the wrong way, LOL.

  • @oranjuh Another thing, it is not Dutch-Afrikaans it is only Afrikaans.

  • I miss you South Africa..

  • kayleigh,ur a moron.......

  • You wanna hear Ras Dumisani instead?

  • @kayleighsa and you spell really crap :)

  • AUS and SA love your anthems.. great !!

  • Could someone put this version on ares please?

  • yes tekerie.

  • It brings tears to my eyes & i'm not even South African.....

  • Besides the goosebumps and pride, the best part of this clip is seeing the "aussie" Dan Vickerman try to hide his sheer love and admiration for the SA anthem! See how fast he swings his head over to the boks and without control starts singing the anthem. Represented SA in all junior levels, Bet you wish you did things different now Dan...

  • can someone put this song on ares?

  • tremendous!

  • get over it lads so he said a word wrong,

  • or castle lager

  • Maybe he had Johnie Walker beside him while he watched the game Arise Australia Fair, im from Europe, and a have a great respect for Australia and SA, Great Anthems

  • Yeah, he said ,,Arise Australia Fair" No comment -.-

  • did that knob of a commentator call it 'Arise australia fair?'

  • who won that game?

  • Brilliant footage, great to see some of our best ever bok players again. Thanks for the video here from England. Go Bokke!!!

  • God seen die bokke.

  • Thenka everybody for all your support.

  • fantastic singing

  • 1:47 sing along time.

  • sounds strange but its true

corne krige the bok captain and

    george gregan the aussie skipper

were born in the same hospital in

    zambia.

  • who was the guy at 1.27, the black australian dude?

  • George Gregan

  • South African anthem is incredible very inspiring

  • Hello. Can someone tell my what are all the languages in the SA song? it's so beautiful. thanks.

  • Xhosa, Zulu, Sesotho, Afrikaans & English

  • Man, how many countries in the world do you know sing their national anthems in 5 languages and still turn out among the best? only South Africa.........

  • 2 of the best anthems for sure

  • Terblance loks like he has a hangover, lol.

  • im australian but im sure im not the only one who thinks our anthem is shit

  • lol, its far from shit. I like the way the SA anthem changes pace halfway through, and the melody is quite good...shame the country isnt as good as the anthem. Consider yourself fortunate to have it the other way around!

  • naw mate aaf is better than waltzing matilda

  • coz they are australians u dumbo

y the hell wud they be singing

    south african anthem.

the camera is only on there face coz

one of em on the left was an south african

    who left the country.

  • Two wonderfull anthems. But "God defend New Zealand" is the best of them all!

  • u r ryte when it says south africa

during the anthem camera comes yte

    on his face.

  • Lol notice how they keep showing Vickerman.

A South African born Aussie... who's family moved over to Australia because South Africa is a hole.

Vicko is a true blue aussie now.

  • SA anthem is awesome, much better than australia's one

  • great moment this or of any game

    national anthems are gripping.

  • im a south afrtican, but i like thelyrics of the aussies.

  • Nkosi+Die stem (our SA national anthem) is the most lyrical and moving of all anthems. Always brings tears to eyes.

  • with all the southy african refugees living in Australia they should be singing the Australian anthem in South Africa...hahaha

  • why there are no aussies over there! idiot

  • I love the two anthems, but the south african is just a little bit better.

Maybe if the "Waltzing Matilda" song was the australian national anthem it would be better, no?

I am french, the "Marseillaise" is a beautiful (music) but bloody (lyrics) anthem, too much bloody indeed:-(.

  • 2:16, looks like he Can't be Arsed to sing Xhosa/Zulu :P

  • 2:51 looks like these 2 can't be arsed to sing Afrikaans neither.

  • yeah i wonder why Terblanche looks so depressed here.

  • As a dual South African-Australian citizen who mostly travels on my Australian passport and has all my family in Australia, I have to tell you the Australian anthem is probably one of the suckiest I have ever heard. It is just bland and boring. That has nothing to do with Clair Johnston singing it.

In comparison Nkosi Sikeli I Afrika is just beautiful.

  • Bottom line, who do you root for in rugby and cricket?

  • Go Bokke !!!

  • You'd think Australia could afford to send an AUSTRALIAN to sing our anthem... this is a poor effort, and not her fault, as no one can be expected to sing the anthem of another country with feeling. Shame...

  • howzit china

  • AMA BOKKE BOKKE

  • lip synching

  • Aussie Aussie Aussie!!

  • Tri-Nations 2002 ??

  • at 2003

  • spring boks for ever

  • go bokke!!!!!!!!!!
