I've listened to this performance more times than I can count, and find something new to hear every time. I love the world-weary sound to Nick's voice, it underscores a certain feeling of truth and honesty in his interpretation. And the winding, bending notes played in Neal Tiemann's accompaniment are (another) revelation from him in what it means to accompany a singer.

I love this performance. Especially the ethereal notes Neal makes with his guitar. It makes the whole thing so different from any other cover of this song. Nick's voice is deep and rich also. I enjoyed this very much.

I am a big David Cook fan and he is always saying that he just got lucky. I never understood that until this night at the Flytrap. Seeing this performance (and Nick's whole set) finally made me understand that Nick (and others) are also phenomenal musicians and deserve the kind of success David has. I hope it comes to them soon. No one with this much talent and passion should go unrecognized.
