I wish we did more "PR" flights like this in Canada and that so called Airborne guy is talking out of his ass,we do a lot of training flights to keep up the quals and I would say that this looks like just another training flight.
thats patriotism at its finest!! makes us all go crazy like apple pie or driving a chevy... makes us proud to see what our military can do!! not that its doing much here but the majority of people dont see military planes too often
Its tradition that when a big game or race is about to begin, the Air Force, Navy, Army, or Marine Corps do a flyover with an Aircraft stationed nearby.
The crowd goes crazy for a few reasons. First off these jets are loud and most are fast and just seeing them in person makes you go wild, you cant be bored and have a military jet fly over you as a civilian.
Second is we cheer because we love our men and women in the armed services, and are always eager to show our support to them.
I would give my left nut to hear that bastard fly over my house. that has to be the only giant left that can get away with that level of noise. almost reminds me of the 707s. just stubby looking.
Aahhhhhhh but the C5 can't throw a tank out the back in flight!! The C5 is the heavy lifter and does its job well! The C17 is anything, anywhere! I work on 'um in good ole San Antonio every C17 comes to Boeing here we love 'um!
You know what would be cool? If the military brought in a couple of Harriers and a couple F-35's and had them all go into a hover spread out across the top of stadium. Then they speed away one at a time. How about that!!!
C-17A loadmaster man, best enlisted job in the air force. we get to do some truely great stuff like airdropping aid and food to poeple that need it when disaster strikes.
we were busy evacing people to texas after katrina hit new orleans, we also brought in food into the airport at the time of it happening and after unloading the food we would load the jet with poeple to be taken to texas.
ive jumped out of those before, and the sound is something you don't forget. a much more exhilarating experience than jumping from a 130. (not that that isn't fun too! ; )
Hey JesusUCSB when you're done walking across the lake remember and NEVER forget that an ex-DODGER took the Angels to the promised land. "Its time for Dodger Baseball."

@RJFan: looking at its flaps I'd say less than 190 knots, and definitely less than 250 at that altitude.

Wow at 0:27 does he put full throttle on, or is it just the rear of the engines (or both lol)?

That just it normally sounding. IF the engines were reving up, you would hear a screeching or high pitched sound.
