He is saying all other DJs back then are just doing some show off body tricks thats why he starts with WOAH and says NO to each scratch watch it again he says no no to peoples styles NO and then he goes on to show that he is skilled in the art of Boom bap with just kick snares and high hats and then shows he can transform like an auto bot then finishes it with a bang ;) Mr Thing still does the heavy sets today - support and see him play you will enjoy!
@DJPHILLY187 Yes sir.. I just red this comment and it summed up exactly what MR THING was doing back in 2000. At a time where every battle routine seemed to use "SUPER DUCK BREAKS" it was great to see Mr Thing come through with such an original and funky set.. Mr Thing is the man..
@ZuluGhost I'm kinda with you on that one as I like the sets that sound like a mega mix but this one set I wouldnt of really made that comment on......lol...
but in saying that if you compare it to DJ Noizes winning set or one of Crazes sets yes it doesnt flow in the same way but I would just call it differnt styles at the end of the day...

that shit was wack, i stopped it at 130, if u dont have my attention by then, i aint watching it, one of the worst ive ever seen, dont reply saying i should of kept watching cuz it gets better, i dont care, that was the wackest minute and 30 secs ive ever seen
It's a 2-click-orbit baby combo and after that a chirp-flare. it is his "thing". he does a very similar pattern on the intro of the creators album. check that out too!
but the amount of time in the forward motion is half that of the backward motion, there simply isnt time to fit 3 clicks in the forward motion! can u do this?
Tip = If you use the tape that is used to repair cassette tapes with an s-shaped tone arm by placing the tape next to the beat on the record and the stylus on the tape by moving the record forward the centrifugal force with pull the record into the groove where you placed the tape which is pretty much what these guys do.
Taskforce did do a cover but judging at the time of this set he mixed the Black Rob version, but it is Black Rob's beat anyway so credit goes to him, both good versions but Robs is the better in my eyes!!
Craze's was the most fluent set but to be honest this was more difficult and Dexter's was more inventive so maybe he was a little lucky. I would have give it to Craze though so din't slag me off too much.
One of the best DMC sets ever!! Rakim, black rob, Tribe called quest, even a bit of jazzy jeff all strung together with mad skills! Classic . Shame DMC sets sound like shit these days : (
nah its like woah by black rob, task force covered it n it was called "wah blow" not wild blow, wah bloh as in wagwarn as in was cracking as in whats happennin as in how do you do?
In my opinion, one of the best battle routines in dmc history. Mr. Thing just killed it and plus he had that "soul" that a lot of dmc battles are missing lately. His tribe juggle is completely insane.
noize is sick too and there's no doubt that he's a living legend with his classic disses, but technically and overall--at least in this set--mr. thing takes it over noize. Plus noize messed up in his planet rock routine. If he got that down, there's no doubt that he would have placed higher 'cuz I seen him when he layed that down--that was the ish.
Shame really. I'm a huge Thing fan and he really let him self down in the finals. His UK final routing was spotless, really something. Harks back to a time when the music meant more than the action y0.
Dude milked the Tribe juggle a little too much, but this is still a great set.
