I bought it and switched on for 4 days continuously on power charging .. ultimately motherboard got dead.. after words never gave problems. Battery gets drain very soon. I changed 2 batteries in 3.5 year which is not fair ... It get extremely hot. Otherwise I am happy never had much headache with it .. oh yeah ..vista works shit with it .. i installed windows7 and its working super brilliant. Overlall its a good laptop but now I am switching to G555 lenovo ;-)

I liked this laptop, I had it for last 3.5 years .. it cost me a fortune (800 pounds) in jan 07. I has a very glossy and flashy look, the design is cool and shape is lovley. I have it with intel Core 2 Duo .. so speed is superb always. I am not into gaming so can't say much about that. Regarding the features it is a good machine. However, some of the serious issues are deadly ...

Okay, this is a good computer, but there are so many motherboard problems it's not funny, seriously, don't laugh. I've had it for years until last summer, when the wireless stopped working and I had to hook it up to Ethernet, Not so entertaining!

I'm using my Presario 6000 as i type : )

I like it. It's quite powerful, and great for getting college work done. The drawback is the gaming capability. I can't get proper FPS on games like Half-Life and Counter-Strike: Source. Maybe I'm using the wrong settings though. It used to run perfectly but slowed down after a few months?

I have this laptop. and to go against the majority of people, I like it.

Its fast and zippy. But takes a bit too long to boot up once logged into windows. (Might be all the programs I have on it)

Gets super hot. But if you have it on powersaver, its ok.

Where can you get the upgrade of RAM?

Its not a bad laptop, I paid $649 on ebay over a year ago on eBay.

Its turned off on me a few times from overheating.

mabe it failstarted like mine.. I fixed it and i hate wista so I changed it to linux never broke since/quite some time

i agree. I have it, and it has pretty much fallen apart. Paid about the the same. The card reader, wireless assistant, sound card (on occasion) and even space bar have failed. The power cord split. The within 2months it was in for repairs for problems with the battery connector (and wouldn't start up). I'm thinking of buying a new one now...f&*%ing HP. :( Its waaaay to slow.

Sadly, I have this laptop and hate it. It turns itself off for now reason. Nothing is blocking any vents etc. And sometimes it won't turn on and then makes a weird alarm sound. It's really, really loud going off at 2am in the morning.

I have this same laptop only the upgraded version with lightscribe and game specific nvidia graphics. it is much faster than this version. if you like this one, spend a little more and get the oone with lightscribe+ Nvidia

You know.. laptops is not for 24/7 gaming.. if your thinking about playing 24/7 you should probably get, a cooling platform (or whatever it is called) to put under it.

And btw do not put it on the bed, or anything that will block the vents/fans, because that can end up, burning or overheating the motherboard and stuff inside the laptop.
