  • I do understand why some people bear resentments about the American occupation of Haiti, but occupation was not such a bad thing. Yes, they did put the mulatoes and people of European descent in power over the large majority of darker skin Haitian, but you have to understand those were the people with the education at the the time(pitit yo al etidie nan pey etrange)what they understood of the world was very important the American.

  • They were haitian patriots too and they did understand the gravity of the situation, they gave their best to take us out of the occupation, they did not all follow the same path,Charlemagne Peralt,Rosalvo Bobo,Sudre Darguetinave and those that did not want any involvements with politics, with in mind the massacres that lead to the debarkment,it's not just pride, knowledge is a must,a good notion on humanity to be relevant and preventing chaos!

  • I do agree that knowledge and a good understanding of humanity are key elements missing from the Haitian leadership. Haitian leaders of today are mostly not qualify, and the masses wont vote-in a qualify candidate. The charge is usually "elitism",and the question: where is a country without its elites? nowhere.

Perhaps, Edmund Burke put it best "But what is liberty without wisdom or virtue? It is the greatest of all possible evils!for it is folly, vice and madness without tuition or restraint

  • This video shows too many images of American occupation of Haiti. Not a good souvenir.

  • bon video

  • abolishing ignorance is the key to reversing the fortune of this country

  • What a visual treasure-trove. I first saw PAP in '71 and it looked great. What a difference now. But the Haitian people are the absolute best. Let's pray the country can turn itself around.

  • Yama,

Thanks for sharing the video giving us all a peek into our country's past. And-of course with the choice of background music, it completes the offer-this is so- you. " Menen-m lakay mwen."

    Boulegra,
