It was really funny to watch when Annie splashed all that water in Helen's face, she kinda deserved it, she didn't have to go all berserk on Annie like that, she was just trying to teach her. Well, Helen Keller is the little girl and she's deaf and blind (and thus unable to speak) and Annie Sullivan is the young woman who was sent to her home to teach her language and to communicate. In other words, Helen was a wild child and Annie has to tame her, so to speak. This all happened in 1887 in Alabama, USA.

When Helen Keller was little no one corrected her and let her do whatever she wanted. When Annie arrived she would just walk around and grab off people's plates with her hands - she's trying to teach her how to eat properly and since Helen has lived her entire life with no one telling her what to do she throws a huge tantrum over it.
