NOW there have been marine dinosaur fossils found in the middle east, but these animals were STRICTLY marine, and probably existed when some parts of the Arabian Tectonic Plate was below sea level.
Crocodiles had long tails. The Egyptian God Amut has the head and tail of a crocodile and the body of a hippopotamus. That is kind of like a dinosaur. If the Egyptians can make up creatures like Amut than so could the Hebrews.
My "science" textbook when I went at a Christian school tried to tell me Behemoth was a Dinosaur. It also tried to tell me that dinosaurs and humans lived at the same time.
@gregrutz If you want to be technical thats not right. Some birds (like Chickens)and some reptiles do have navels were the yoke of the egg is absorbed into the chick. Anyway that doesnt matter because in this verse navel doesnt mean (umbilical cord) but the word is more correctly just "STOMACH MUSCLES or just plain MUSCLES" Remember the King James was translated in the 1600's. Every translation since says MUSCLES and the original hebrew word "SHARIYR" means just plain "Muscles"

Biblical creation is impossible according to present reality. The present human and animal diversity on this planet is too diverse to have come from 8 people and 2 of each animal that came off of a big boat 4,300 years ago. Not even going into the numerous flaws with that whole story, simply from genetics is this impossible.

@legion1a One thing to consider is that in Job it mentions the behemoth eating grass like an ox. I don't know about you but I've never seen a crocodile do that. And never did it mention in Job that God and Satan 'hang out together'. It mentions that as angels were coming up to God, satan came with them. God allowed satan to tempt Job but never let him kill Job. But it was satan doing these things, not God, for God himself doesn't do these things.
@legion1a God DID know that Job was faithful, it even says so in the beginning of the book. And Jobs reward was wonderful! But the thing to consider was God was showing his grace through Job in that while Job was still afflicted in the flesh and was weak, he still did not lose faith or even blaspheme God.

We may commit sin, but since we really understand the sacrifice of Jesus (personal) we wont be living with the sin. And instead of Old Testament we wont need animal sacrifices or other stuff to get "clean". So the thing is: The sin is already paid for Him even when you sin.

There is no real contradiction between the Bible and good science. The Bible says that life comes from life (Genesis 1). Evolution teaches that it originally spontaneously arose from chemicals. This is unscientific, not the Bible.

Two of the authors of the Gospels were themselves eyewitnesses and two interviewed eyewitnesses. The fact that Jesus' tomb was empty and that all of the twelve Apostles were willingly executed for having claimed to have seen the risen Jesus are two undeniable facts of secular history.
No one would have gone to their death, much less all twelve had they stolen the body, or lied.

Behemoth a Sauropod? You have got to be kidding. A Sauropod is a very large dinosaur. Apatosaurus, Brachiosaurus, these are sauropods. The latter was 26 meters long with a weight between 25 to 43 metric tons. How does a large dino "lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed and fens." He can't be in the river of under the trees as he is too large. So this can't be a dino, for it said the "shady trees cover him." More likely the Behemoth was the hippopotamus, not a large dinosaur.

@000monkeys Perhaps a way can be found to interpret the text so that it is a dinosaur. But the text can also easily be interpreted to represent other animals. Its using of figurative language does not mandate any one body plan for the animal anyway. After all, it did not just say "Its tail is like a cedar" but that "Its bones are tubes of bronze." This passage no more requires us to believe it had a tail as big as a tree any more then that it was a bronze robot. So why not the hippopotamus?

Its not outside the realm of possibility and acients looked at these fossils and created elaborate myths regarding them. @gregrutz If you want to be technical thats not right. Some birds (like Chickens)and some reptiles do have navels were the yoke of the egg is absorbed into the chick. Anyway that doesnt matter because in this verse navel doesnt mean (umbilical cord) but the word is more correctly just "STOMACH MUSCLES or just plain MUSCLES" Remember the King James was translated in the 1600's. Every translation since says MUSCLES and the original hebrew word "SHARIYR" means just plain "Muscles"

The word Dinosaur does not occur in the bible because it was "made up" only 100 years ago or so. The line his tail swings like a cedar is poorly translated. It actual refers to the animals penis extending like a cedar. Like wise Leviathan is a sea serpent and Ziz is a giant bird. They are explained in great detail in the book of enoch that was removed because of such magical crap that people wouldn't buy!

But sadly I wasn't asked when the books were compiled, so rather they went with part was popular at the time, what caused the least conflicts politically and which books could be physically gathered as independent scrolls. This was a progressive and happened multiple times through out history, a major reason most of the bible makes no sense what-so-ever!

This may sound like an excuse, but if the claims of the Bible are True, that we are fallen and sinful, then it would have to be the case. It doesn't sound like an excuse as much as a confirmation that it doesn't make sense. There are 2 different creation stories, one with man created very last and one with animals created last, 2 sets of 10 Commandments, and the entire New Testiment misquotes the old to prove itself. Christians do not follow the bible!

The Book of Job also says that God and Satan hang out together, and they make bets over how faithful Job is.
God, not Satan ruined Job's life by destroying his home, killing his entire family, and giving him a horrible disease.

@legion1a One thing to consider is that in Job it mentions the behemoth eating grass like an ox. I don't know about you but I've never seen a crocodile do that. And never did it mention in Job that God and Satan 'hang out together'. It mentions that as angels were coming up to God, satan came with them. God allowed satan to tempt Job but never let him kill Job. But it was satan doing these things, not God, for God himself doesn't do these things.

@legion1a God DID know that Job was faithful, it even says so in the beginning of the book. And Jobs reward was wonderful! But the thing to consider was God was showing his grace through Job in that while Job was still afflicted in the flesh and was weak, he still did not lose faith or even blaspheme God.

@Fantasticlist I'm interested to know where your faith or feeling or whatever you call it comes from. I know personally of few people who believe in god but deny the bible. I tend towards atheism but realise god can neither be proved or disproved. The bible on the other hand is obviously written by men who wanted power over those in this life.

1. Faith and the relationship with God are made for you personal search for Him. You need to recognize what Jesus did for you and how great is the love of God. Then its easy.
2. To say that about Bible (written by men) you show to dont have enough knowledge on it. You should look for more apologetics websites instead of atheist websites talking about the Bible. If you want to understand the Bible search on who knows (carm.org for example).

Thats what you believe. Apart from the plagiarised central tenent there are the inconsistent writings, morality and personal histories in the bible which all point to it being written by several incoherent writers (i mean this in terms of consistency). I cant prove there is or isnt a god, but its not in the bible.

@yournotright101 Do you see how you are wrong? Jesus paid our sins with His life. By accepting Him, we dont need to live by sin no more and we are sinless. We may commit sin, but since we really understand the sacrifice of Jesus (personal) we wont be living with the sin. And instead of Old Testament we wont need animal sacrifices or other stuff to get "clean". So the thing is: The sin is already paid for Him even when you sin.

There is no real contradiction between the Bible and good science. The Bible says that life comes from life (Genesis 1). Evolution teaches that it originally spontaneously arose from chemicals. This is unscientific, not the Bible.

A murderer can't just tell the judge that he is sorry, and expect a good judge to just be "nice" enough to just let him go. Basic logic says that this would make no sense. How many good deeds or how many dollars do you have to give to charity to make up for murdering someone?

@legion1a Jesus did not "die because a woman ate fruit 4,000 years before he existed", He was the one who created the woman to begin with. This is basic theology, and any "minister for 14 years" would understand this extremely basic concept.
As for being "delusional" I just earned my degree in biotechnology, and I would have to be delusional not to believe that life was designed. Life can't come about spontaneously, and the citric acid cycle cannot be broken down.

Two of the authors of the Gospels were themselves eyewitnesses and two interviewed eyewitnesses. The fact that Jesus' tomb was empty and that all of the twelve Apostles were willingly executed for having claimed to have seen the risen Jesus are two undeniable facts of secular history.
No one would have gone to their death, much less all twelve had they stolen the body, or lied.

The latter was 26 meters long with a weight between 25 to 43 metric tons. How does a large dino "lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed and fens." He can't be in the river of under the trees as he is too large. So this can't be a dino, for it said the "shady trees cover him." More likely the Behemoth was the hippopotamus, not a large dinosaur.

@000monkeys Perhaps a way can be found to interpret the text so that it is a dinosaur. But the text can also easily be interpreted to represent other animals. Its using of figurative language does not mandate any one body plan for the animal anyway. After all, it did not just say "Its tail is like a cedar" but that "Its bones are tubes of bronze." This passage no more requires us to believe it had a tail as big as a tree any more then that it was a bronze robot. So why not the hippopotamus?

If dinosaurs and humans lived at the same time, it's doubtful we would still be around. To be honest, the amount miracles have flickered on and off during the age of history. From the time of Adam to Noah (nearly 1700 years), there were hardly any miracles-- let alone any.
