Hey, look at Park's doing! He didnt bow after the match.
How rude he is!
Actually he has good skills and I can say that Park's hiki men was a kind of very close.(that wasn't hit anyway)But it's a tooooo rude. That's impossible as a martial artist.
@tatsuyuki59 I don't think it matters. In Kendo, kneeling down in front of eachother is the equivalent of bowing. The way Teramoto bowed was something he did as an extra. Not all Kendo clubs says you MUST bow. But you absolutely must kneel down in front of eachother. It's not like other martial arts with the bowing gesture.
I think people make a too big a deal since it's Koera vs Japan. They both are amazing warriors. Let's not take that away from either of them.
I wonder what the script on the back of the Korean team's uniform says, most likely something philosophical, like - May the force be with you. In any case, I like the inclusion of this traditional element, considering this is a traditional martial art. Maybe in the future, there could be a variation to the Korean uniform with Hangul calligraphy, representing some sort of mantra or poem, written in a traditional manner covering just the upper part. Learn from this match. 한국 아자 아자!
Hey guys, don't talk about race. I agree that the judge would have missed Park's men, but even if Teramoto got the same situation, Japanese would not complain like that. Where the idea came from the judges were all Japanese anyway... .
Teramoto should've been penalized because he was doing wrong tsubazeriai... Park does it correctly, but Teramoto doesn't let the tsubazeriai to do correct during the fight, putting his blade on Park's faca and chest and shoulder. This is an absurd. Referees suck, the only reason Teramoto won is because he's japanese...
If that's the case, most Korean teams should've been penalized for doing wrong tsubazeriai. (For instance, keeping the sword to their lower waist.) What Teramoto was doing was to break away from Park, and that is okay and commonly seen in Kendo.
Teramoto did not won because he was Japanese. If you're going to say that the shinpans were bias, watch other Kendo videos. (Youtube "funny ippons," "31st All Korean Kendo," "Las Vegas Kumdo Competition," etc.) You'll definitely see a lot of poor refereeing. Even Korean teams won points unfairly. And even this Korean vs. Korean one: watch?v=CgbA4KPXEcU
I'm Korean, but from most Korean Kumdo videos I watched, Korean shinpans are, by far, the worst.
lol, and Park was also rude...i know he is upset that he lost, his hikki men should have counted i think too ya, but he didn't show no class to bow to teramoto at the end...that was sad way to end a match...lol
But I can't move away from this page without saying this: referees sucks. Such a biased officials... The hiki-men was only as good as other two clear hits Park made.
I agree. That was a very clean, beautiful, and a perfect men launched by Teramoto senshu. I'm surprised the shinpans did not give an ippon for that men. My guess is that it was a little weak?
Rei ni hajimari, Rei i owaru. - This rule is one of the most important ones in Kedo.
Anyway, both of them didn't show their best.

He should learn the "mind of Budo" from Teramoto.

So although Park hit his men, I wouldn't give an ippon for that... even if I was the shinpan...
