The problem is that your god's words (or, truthfully, the words of his worshipers who translated and mistranslated it repeatedly over the years) do not make things right or wrong for everyone.

Not all discrimination is unwise or unjust--just consider male/female restrooms...it is unlawful for a man to use a woman's restroom and vice versa--does that mean he/she is second class? That leaves about 81,000 children in the system, EACH YEAR, without their forever families. They don't care. They just want someone to love them, keep them safe, help them with homework, hold their hand when they feel sick, and to hug them and tell them they love them.

I just would like to say something...I'm not religious at all and I don't think that religions should be criticizing each other especially since Mormonism has different sects. Not all Mormons are polygamists or hate homosexuals or hate African Americans. This is just stereotyping all Mormons to what everyone hears about and remembers-the bad stuff. 52 children have been removed from a Mormon Polygamist ranch in West Texas after a report of the physical abuse of a teenage girl was issued. 18 of the girls have been placed in state custody due to abuse.

Not even 1 homosexual couple can have true sex or procreate because nature (or God) made it that way. I don't hate homosexuals, but their unhealthy sexual practices and lifestyles are totally against natural design--so Prop 8 is NOT about hate, but about preserving the family. Um The whole Old Testament is a story book. No one was around for creation so how can that story be a historical account? No no no, the bible is a story book. Doesn't mean you can't learn important lessons from it, like any story book, but you definitely should not take it literally.

The family is the foundation of society--It is absolutely valid to have concerns about changing the fabric of this institution.
No one is trying to control who gays love. Calling gay unions 'marriage' ignores the important differences they have with heterosexual couples. Why not just refuse to acknowledge gender altogether?

The problem is that your god's words (or, truthfully, the words of his worshipers who translated and mistranslated it repeatedly over the years) do not make things right or wrong for everyone.
God has told me very clearly that gay marriage is right. Just look at the Charge of the Goddess: "For behold, all acts of love and pleasure are my rituals."
Welcome to America, where my religion is just as valid as yours. Prop 8 debases the values this country was founded on and is simply un-American.

Not all discrimination is unwise or unjust--just consider male/female restrooms...it is unlawful for a man to use a woman's restroom and vice versa--does that mean he/she is second class? If a supreme court appointee discriminates against white men, it's okay---but if heterosexuals want to define their unions differently than homosexuals... that's an abomination?

However, that should 'naturally' exclude adoption (in my opinion) because that would infringe on the rights of a child to both a mother and father. Studies have shown that children function better in society with both a mother and father.

In the US Foster Care system, there is an average of over 132,000 children EACH YEAR up for adoption. Only about 51,000 of them are adopted. That leaves about 81,000 children in the system, EACH YEAR, without their forever families. They don't care. They just want someone to love them, keep them safe, help them with homework, hold their hand when they feel sick, and to hug them and tell them they love them.

I just would like to say something...I'm not religious at all and I don't think that religions should be criticizing each other especially since Mormonism has different sects. Not all Mormons are polygamists or hate homosexuals or hate African Americans. This is just stereotyping all Mormons to what everyone hears about and remembers-the bad stuff. I have a really good group of Mormon friends and they don't mind that I'm not religious. Don't get me wrong, I mostly agree with this video.

Prop 8 is hateful.... This first lines of the propostion are "To eliminate the rights... " I do not want any proposition that eliminates any rights! For those who are interpreting the Bible word for word... then what about Exodus 21:7 If a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do. Or for those who want to look at the consititution of the United States... and ammendent had to be placed on marriage for minorities to marry and for slaves.

I do not understand your comments... if you look at the history of your church. Joseph Smith was killed by a mob of anti-morman protesters. In Missorri where Smith fled to the Governer of the state Lulburn Boggs authorized the "extermination of or that mormans be driven from the state". Brillaint as always from the legend Lola! That said, it wasn't the religous right that did this. Prop H8 passed because Obama's followers voted YES on it and he did nothing to prevent it. All he had to do was come out againsts it, and H8 would not have passed. All Obama did for the first part of his campaign was prattle on about Jesus to get elected, OBAMA is AGAINST GAY MARRIAGE, his constituency knows this but gays want to convince themselves otherwise, H8 passing was projected long ago.

Thank you Miss Lola Rose! I wish you talked more on prop 8 than Ellen's wedding. I realized on the end why it was important for you to talk about her wedding more than prop 8: It was to give the importance what goes on behind the prop 8: I mean it is just not a proposition it is almost a MEDIEVAL law!
I have nightmares since it passed and keep thinking more and more how wrong it is to pass a law that condones hate,....

I live in Chicago and my mother lives in Tennessee. My mother is a down home, Southern woman who loves my brother and I with all her heart. We're both gay and nothing changes her love.
Watching you, Miss Lola Rose, is like having my mother with me even though she's so far away.
