Ron Paul Republicans are patriots foremost and do have a love for this country. forget the party, we must all take this country back. The founding fathers, whom Ron Paul and these other men are the closest things to today, would be ashamed of where we are now.
It's not just BJ and the other guy who won the primaries either. There are about 4 other Ron Paul Republicans (and more who haven't had their primaries yet) and even one guy running as a Democrat (he voted for Ron Paul, and when he won he primary his opponent was quoted as saying (paraphrase) "We just elected a conservative in the Democratic Party."
After Ron Paul didn't garner enough votes to win the primaries I said to myself "that figures" and continue to be pessimistic about the future of the United States. But seeing stuff like this makes me think we still have a chance. I can only hope Ron Paul Republicans spring up in Ohio.
Ron Paul Republicans are springing up all over here in Minnesota. There are some trying to get elected to the Fed Gov and some trying to get elected to the State Gov.
What the right-wing interventionists don't realize is that it's silly to try to fight a problem partially caused by interventionism with MORE interventionism! That's like putting beer on a fire to put it out.
I get sickened by these ultraliberal douchebags who wanna use our military as some "good" world police in Darfur or anywhere else that's under a dictatorship, as opposed to a "bad" world police in Iraq. There's nothing humanitarian about interventionism UNLESS the people themselves ask for our intervention. Iraqis never asked for it. And Sudanese people I'm sure wouldn't appreciate us sending troops in and doing nation-building there, either! Should we send troops to Uganda, too?
The real beef I have with these "humanitarian interventionists" is that they're just cherry-picking what kind of foreign policy adventurism is ok and what kind isn't. Iraq isn't ok, but Darfur is?? Iraq was under the rule of a brutal dictator for almost 30 years!! Sudan's shit hasn't been going for even 20 (if I remember right). And if you free Darfur, why not send troops to Cuba to oust Fidel, or the Chinese oligarchy? Saudi Arabian monarchs? Iranian mullahs? Where does it end??
The cherry-picking means they admit that they think one kind of people are more important and superior to another. So the people of Darfur are somehow better than the people of China, who've been living under this oppressive gov't since 1949?? Or the Cuban people since 1959? Huh?? Stick that up your pipe and smoke it, liberal interventionists.
Noninterventionism just makes sense. Interventionism is NEVER the answer, whether it's from the right or the left. The war in Kosovo was just as shitty as the War in Iraq. An invasion of Darfur would also be pretty stupid. I mean, if certain people wanna join a peacekeeping force to be deployed to Darfur, by all means, join. But it should be controlled by the UN, and no president should be allowed to send American troops who pledge to serve the military involuntariliy to fight in Darfur.
That would be UNconstitutional, and I don't think real conservatives would like it very much. If you wanna volunteer to be apart of some peacekeeping force, more power to you, but we musn't let any politician or president force American troops to die for Sudan without their consent. That's not what they signed up. They signed up to fight threats to THIS country and this country alone, not Israel, not Darfur, America, period!
I dont think of myself as Conservative right or Liberal left but as a Constitutional Libertarian Populist. I have combined ideas from the Constitution, Libertarian and Green parties together.
Nice!!! Too bad the dems have the house though. They may not have it for much longer however. I hope and pray these Ron Paul republicans can take the house from the dems and the neo-con republicans!!!
NICE! I sure hope they can finally take back the party someday. Even though I'm now more liberal than when I was first heard about Paul, I'm still a big supporter because he seems a lot more pro-individual liberty than even a lot of Democrats, and I respect his opposition to the war and being a noninterventionist and such. The Old Right needs to reclaim its party from the neocons and New Right assholes with their social COLLECTIVISM (banning certain behaviors all because they don't like it).

would any of you conservatives ever support Cheney?

The only thing that's worth supporting where Cheney is concerned is impeachment.
