You mustn't know much about audio. Increasing the bass through EQ that much will cause extreme clipping. Also, why would you EQ these to have less mids? They are already recessed in the mids to begin with. Ah well, you'll learn.

@xrahvinx24, I listened to this vid w/ my 500's on. As long as you don't put your iPod past 3/4 volume level, you'll be ok. Dubstep/Drum and Bass/Hip-Hop/Rap all sound amazing with these headphones on a flat EQ setting. You haveta use treble boost for rock and such.

is it just the microphone or is there a lot of clipping going on? Think you're trying to play them too loud if the diaphragm is moving that much, must be clipping.

i prefer the xb700s. theyre so good. just use them with laptop, or amp. my phone (htc thunderbolt) doesnt have enough power to drive, if you do want to get the xb700s with ur ipod/phone get the pa2v2 amp. (electric-avenues dottttt com)

I wonder how your drivers could move that much, I've tried looking at mine through the foam as it's so thin so you can easily see the driver but it never seems to move. Are you blasting full volume through them or?
