Dude I'm British and love both the NFL and Rugby but get a grip mate the NFL does not own the world it owns the US, rugby is played on a high level in far more countries and is an Olympic sport, American football ain't played on a high level in any country but the US and has never been a part of a world sport event. Btw American football comes from rugby and initially also involved backward passes as forward passes weren't legally allowed until the early 20th century.

I agree with alot of other peoples views. I've played NFL but Rugby union and league has a bigger toll on your body. The padding in these hits cushion the blows and then act as a kind of spring making the hits look harder

Coming from somebody who has played soccer, rugby, and football at competitive levels (rugby/soccer at Truman State U. football during H.S. wide receiver) soccer is my personal favorite, rugby takes the most endurance, but football is the toughest to play, yes there are pads and you need them, the tackling is different between rugby and football. THIS IS JUST MY OPINION NOT TRYING TO START SHIT JUST GIVING MY TWO CENTS.

Dude I'm British and love both the NFL and Rugby but get a grip mate the NFL does not own the world it owns the US, rugby is played on a high level in far more countries and is an Olympic sport, American football ain't played on a high level in any country but the US and has never been a part of a world sport event. Btw American football comes from rugby and initially also involved backward passes as forward passes weren't legally allowed until the early 20th century.
