  • wow... got more quitters in this world than haters...

  • Im adding all these to a play list soo i can learn over the summer :)

  • WOW, i know some people are quitters but just look at the views! This guy is amazing and i am learning with ease! I wonder what made them quit!

  • 01:20 - 01:40 Epic face time

  • He's funny too!

  • 27 minuts....time to take a toke and bust out the notes

  • You are AWESOME! Not everyone could do this, or everyone would be a musician.

  • I got a question about time signatures. I have absolutely no idea what the bottom number is for but I wrote a piece of music that has 12 beats arranged like so: "SwwwSwwwSwww" (strong and weak notes) But I have no idea if its 12/16 or 12/8 or 12/4 or 12/2 and I have absolutely no idea how to find out.

  • can you please make some mathematics videos

  • It bothers me how stupid videos like RWJ (Dont get me wrong I love RWJ xD) get like a million views in a few days and this videos which are actually very educational and good for one, get so little:( Andrew you are amazing:)

  • hey andrew I am Dror from israel and I am playing the piano now.. thanks to you . great lessons

  • i'm naming our guild "GEEK SQUAD" :D

  • You weren't brainwashed by the state education sausage machine and it shows!

  • Hi, I appriciate the teaching that you have been giving, I even bought a piano. This have been a fantasy for a long time and you are making real, I have seen from lesson one your videos until now, i don't really comprehence the staff, all together or the beats but i'm trying to see if there is a way to learn to read music and to play it after I have seen all your videos and I did like the tie...

  • HAHAH...I TOTALLY LEARN....HHAAH "THE GEEK SQUAD" THAT WAS VERY FUNNY.....^^

  • Indians chanted to a 4/4...haha...hay ya ya ya

  • 6/8 is very often refered as compound duple time(Not to be confused with 3/4 which is simple triple time). This means there are two beats to the bar,not 6. Each beat lasts 3 * 1/8 note. Please correct me if i am wrong.

  • Wow homeschooled! That explains some of your qualities...

  • I use your videos to learn piano as well, but I really think you drift away too often and lengthen stuff unnecessarily. I think you were able to compress each lesson to a third of its length. And this is what makes it annoying for me. One example to simplify difficult things is OK. But not like 3 examples to explain what a quarter rest is and how many of these fit into a full rest. Although this may be necessary if you teach it to Americans :P

  • i was struggling with my piano class this semester. my teacher wasn't teaching right. i love referencing your videos you've helped me alot!

  • @bordechica06 your teacher was teaching you wrong??!!??

  • oh my god you're so funny and eccentric. in a good way.

thanks for all these lessons! It's gonna help in my transcribing. :):)

  • Thanks!

I studied piano very badly as a kid & this is the part I could never quite follow on paper. I appreciate the care with which you dealt with the subject.

    Sunshine & Blessings! :O)

  • Very Good Video's Thanks for doing this for us

  • So I've gotten this far on your videos and i've decided to watch all the videos before i actually start to play on the piano. Looking at a music sheet there are sometimes more notes in a bar that are supposed to be played, how can I do that if it says there are 4 beats per bar? did that sound right, i probably confused you, but hopefully you understand what I mean.

Thank you so much for these videos. I love being able to learn at my own speed.

  • @beiba08 there are different types of notes like quater notes, whole notes, 1/8th notes, 1/16th notes e.t.c

  • thx a lot for these lessons man, i've been learning piano for the last three weeks or so with your vids being my main source of info so far. Hopefully even though i'm a bit older I can learn well from these lessons.

  • yeah in reginal auditions there's stuff like 12/4 and stuff

  • BEST PART 2:21

  • Thnx sir, u have been an excellent teacher, AAnd i have made you my 'Guru'

  • i love you

  • Hi! Thanks, great lesson. One question though. With rests, what's the number associated for?

e.g The whole rest, it's for four beats and the number it's associated with is one. What's the whoe number associated thing about cause I don't get it. Lol

    Thanks. :)

  • dang i want to be homeschooled id be way more advanced not held back

  • Great video as usual

  • Excellent videos....Thank-you Andrew...your personable style make your videos even better.

  • another good video... u do alot of analogies and repeat alot but i cant complain because im remembering all this stuff really easilly ha ha ur the MAN!!

  • nice video, thanks. next time less talk and embellishment on the analogies though LOL :P very informative vid though

  • Yeah man, you truly are the Morpheus of Piano :D Thanks once more for all your vids!

  • Never ever ever noticed what line/space the whole/half rest where placed...wow! Learn something new every day!!!

  • When entering a "wholy" place you must remove your hat and set it down, but HALF of the time you forget to take it off. Haha, god that was lame! But I just made it up and not a whole story! :P

  • thank you

  • teacher one taugh me that it would be easier to see the difference between thw whole rest and the half rest. see, the whole is worth more than the half rest, so the hat gets heavier and then it stays upside down. it might help

  • These lessons are Great but it would help alot if you told us exactly what to practice on piano at the end of every lesson like which scales and which chords

  • Check out Lesson #40-- especially the "more info" section in the sidebar-- for more specifics on what to practice. The lesson numbers aren't necessarily the order you should watch them in.

    Thanks Andrew!!

  • ...also kinda looks like an upside down hat. Heyyyy!! LOL

  • what exactly are we supposed to be practising on the piano, while we're having lessons on theory? just scales?

  • scales and chords

  • Fantastic explanations.

One quick question... Does this guide apply to all music or just classical based?

Reggae and Ska-based music, for example, I'm sure goes by a weakStrongweakMedium.

    Might be wrong.

    'elp.

    X

  • Enter the piano matrix!

  • Dude you totaly got the saying there is a equal and opposite rest from Newton's Third Law without the reaction part but your vids are really cool though lol

  • nice tie =D

  • Thanks for the lesson, I didn't know about the strong, medium and weak beats.

  • Thank You very much for best lesson, Dear Sir.

  • Thank you for making this video series. I wouldn't take the time to go and take lessons. This makes it very convenient. You are a good teacher. Thank you again.

  • Wow that nerd impression .... I lol'ed

  • for*

  • after what this guy has completed in 7 mins and 50 seconds. teachers in my city have trouble teaching this in 1 week

  • yeah, cause you pay them fore time.

  • nice haircut

  • GEEK SQUAD!!! Hahaha.........excellent lesson Big Man

  • Whats wrong with getting a lil high?

Im a guitar player and i gotta say theres nothin better than a lil insperado along with my guitar.

  • ha ha i burst out laughin when you was portraying geeks and said, "I think I did that too well!!" Nice lesson!!!!!!!!!

  • Hi, I really laughed when the cat was making noise and then when you messed up when clapping at the end, that was really funny. Wanted to thank you for your selfless effort. I have been learning from lesson number one and plan on keep doing so. You are such a blessing. Hugs from this part of the planet.

  • Still learning over here!

    Hugs for you sunshine man!

  • do you think you could do a whole vid on how to count rest correctly so you come in at the right time in a song.....thats what i'm having trouble with.....please it would be really helpful....

  • more complex but more interesting, thank u

  • two cousins lol, you're the man

  • omg 1:20 woked me up after 14 videos :D

  • Hahaha. I learned the Matrix of Music. Where you lack in intensity, you make up in your sense of humour.

I agree with xianning. Your video's are so entertaining, but not only that, Ive actually learned a lot.
