Everything is up and running in this hotel..just got back last night...lots of trees are gone in the resort and on the beach..not much shade or palapas left but we managed to get some shade-I haven't been to the hotel before Ike but boy, I have the most wonderful vacation ever!!!! will definately go back as soon as I can!! great people!!!
Heya I went their in january and bloody hell it's wrecked! But i have a good friend who works in the hotel and he told me everything was fine for guests to go and the hotel should be good as new in no time! and they are keeping it open. DON'T PANIC! It's a great hotel and I think they wouldn't want their rep to go down the drain! xxx
if your are traveling to this resort you can not for at least 4 weeks, your travel agent will tell you its fine. then cancell it at the last minute, i called the rep at the resort and she confirmed the resort is closed. we are due to go on monday and first choice are telling us its fine to go. go on trip advisor and see the pictures
The place is wrecked. But I do think (well, hope) that it will be fixed to a level where they accept guests fairly quickly. The biggest issues that we saw were the 3 blocks where the roof had been ripped off, the sea food place that had half its roof ripped off, but perhaps the biggest issue was the availability of supplies. The country as a whole was badly hit. If anyone is going soon, i hope it is ok for you. Anyone who has been before will struggle to recognise the place. All big trees gone.
i've been in this hotel at christmas and it recoverd very well although there isnt many fruits.
Its all nice and clean now.
