He was so passionate..... Better than stupid Robert Walls. He and Bruce Macevaney are the best. Such a tragety.... What's the name of this opera song? I've heard it all the time..
From here in America, Clinton and Rex were the voice of footy via the AFL website. With no television of footy in the USA, the radio calls are the only link to footy. When I watch the 2007 GF on DVD, I use the 3AW call as that was what I heard on GF day. Clinton will be missed.
His loss will not only be felt through his family but also prominently in the sporting world. He is such a tragic passing and had no ceiling to how far he wanted to go in life.
i watched this incredible young man from the moment he started on fox footy and will never forget him, as will the rest of the sporting world. i feel greatly for laurenna, as even though i didnt know him personally, it feels like i have lost a friend. he had so much more to offer and was such a professional. ill miss you Clinton, may you rest in peace.
i dont have foxtel, i admit i havent listened to 3aw much over the years but when i heard this guy call footy games i knew this guy was great, i use to see his face during half time on the tv screens at the pub on foxtel and just looking at him i knew this guy was good in calling games and you can tell he had a great personality, a very nice guy.
I saw a short, two sentence letter in the newspaper recently that I believe sums up the thoughts of many: "God must be a football fan. He's recruited our best commentator".
Thank you Clinton for the excellence that you brought to your profession. Football, indeed sport in general in this country, will never be the same, but we are thankful for the short time that you were with us to share your wonderful gift and hard work. Rest in Peace.
I cannot recall a commentator/football personality as universally well liked and admired as Clinton. Even Dennis Cometti has his knockers on occasion but I never heard a bad word about Clinton Grybas.
Not since the death of Darren Millane can I recall such a combination of shock, grief and disbelief to befall the football world.
We could wax lyrical for days upon days about what we have lost, but it all boils down to this: not only was there nothing in broadcasting he couldn't do, there's nothing in broadcasting he couldn't do brilliantly, and he had a charm and professionalism unmatched in his industry.
Hey Fatuui---woz happning its Mark from Melbourne. Cant believe Clinton died and so yung Wouldnt mind going 2 his funeral but its on a work day. Go Pies --08
Always the consummate professional at his craft. In an industry where there are plenty of pretenders you truly were a stand-out and can't be replaced.
It really has taught me a lesson not to take those we love for granted. I have spent just that little bit of extra time with those I love today. Cos you never now when You will speak to them last.
We still miss you Clinton... Sunday games on fox 1 are never the same. You were the best.

The difference is that Millane was a dickhead of a man who thankfully killed himself and not an innocent person.
Clinton on the other hand was a fantastic guy with a bright future, he was taken away in tradgic circumstances and unfairly.
