Very good! only thing i would like you to consider is for you to track the motion of the film so that your smoke clouds from the gun wont stay in the middle of the screen. that way they will stay where they would in real life.
The story line kicked ass! Im not kidding. Im not sure if your a reenactor or not, but If you used guys who had badass impression it would of been awesome! If you ever get a chance to make it up to mid-west Illinois I'll help ya out. Im a reenactor.
Sir, all of your video's have been epic, some of the best I've seen, here on You Tube!!
I would only ask this, (and it is in no way a reflection of your movie making or posting) please show blood on the uniforms/clothing, and bayonet useage with same blood on clothing and bayonet,(on with-drawing) whrer applicable in your films.
Love all your films, and as a sub, look forward to seeing what you come up with next. Wish I could do what you are doing!!!!
I thought that was a good piece of work. Perhaps the stubble could have been applied with a little more subtlety as its obvious artificiality was distracting. Other than that, well up to your usual high standard
this is your best project yet!!!!!! amazing creativity and very realistic gun sounds and muzzle flashes for the weapons. Music was great 2! Keep it coming!
Beautiful camera work...the images in the movie are truly stunning. And I'm glad to see a larger cast in the film...you are an extremely versatile performer Jonathan, but having a few others in the movie offers a little more variety in the film.
If there is a critique I'd have of the film, it may be that the story would perhaps be a little more effective if it were a little bit longer. That, and I think the beard was a little odd.
@andell1 Thanks! It's so hard to get these larger casts for films, especially cause a lot of my actors left for college, but it seemed to work out. Thanks again! Yeah, the time limit was because of the film festivals, they only allow 5 minutes for the short film category. Haha he beard. Yeah I love westerns, I'm glad to see they are kinda back in the habbit of filming westerns for movies nowadays.
@jdambrosio You know, after I wrote what I did, I was afraid you might see it as more critical than I had intended. You're a great film maker. :) I hadn't realized that you were submitting your film for a short film at a film festival- how was it received? :)
I wonder if you ever thought about portraying a more contemporary military homecoming: for instance, an Iraq or Afghan war veteran returning home, trying to reintegrate. Lots of opportunities to research the challenges they face.
@andell1 Oh, I really enjoy getting all sorts of feedback, so thank you very much. I really, really like the idea of the Afgan war veteran returning home. The short film festival actually isn't until December, but we'll have to see how it does! I'm pretty excited. Thanks again, for the feedback.
Fuckin superb. If you guys had authentic gear, and were reenactors...this would be even more awesome.
