@Diamondgrl2007 I hope by now you've watched this movie. It's a great movie and happens to be the movie that started my love for all things Fred Astaire.
He obviously isnt trying to court the kid, but poor kid!! He just wanted the damn bunny and some mean adult distracted him and stole it!! : ( but seriously Freda awesome
This is my favorite one too! I am always amazed & then I think who I'm watching the cleverness in how he approaches the end to get the bunny. I think of him often when I see people on television trying to dance yet they can't even come close to Mr. Astaire. He is my absolute favorite dancer in the world because of his skill & talent. He could work a song like no one's business. His chorography was utterly the best in show business. He loved working with Garland & she liked working with him.
at 1:54 when he taps his foot against the counter and limps away is so funny. He was mocking Gene Kelly who originally had the role and broke his ankel on this dance. It's just so well done and of course if you know that piece of history... absolutely hilarious.
nrs like this get removed all the time :-( I even have it on dvd, still like to have it on my Astaire list on Tube :-( like a lot of others they keep removing
jeez you dont get entertainers like you did back then, they were soi talented this must hav taken a lot of rehearsing

This is also a JOY to watch from a drummers point of view who only knows of Fred Astaire as "the dancing fellow" even if among the worlds finest.

@chinaeyes85 Don't be daft! Watch the film! He's trying to get the rabbit off the boy to buy it for his girlfriend! Don't slur Fred!
