sorry mate... wasting love, talisman, dream of mirrors, dance of death,pilgrim,legacy,alchemist,2 am, como estais amigos ... are just some of the gems janick have contributed to..apart from the fact that he revitalized the stage show.
personally with maiden,i think they should publish the set list before hand. that way no one can moan about how they wished they could play this song or that song and they waasted their money...give your tick to someone who wants to see the band (and there are a few thousand who would gladly go) instead of complaining
they were great bud, first time ive seen them in 19 years!......still think (as a guitarist myself) that 3 guitars is one too many.....doesnt leave room for space in the music and it ends up as a mush of sound cause the 3 guitars end up playing all the time. They are a class act but they will never top the Murray/ Smith/ Harris/ Dickinson/ McBrain........lineup, that was the best and will always be the best version of Maiden, ALL the best albums were written by those guys together.
Wow...negative, negative, negative....I was there and took my daughter to her first Maiden concert.....sorry guys, but the look on the face of a young 15 year old girl when the band hit the stage will outweigh anything you experts will ever have to say....cheers....it was a great gig....better than the one I saw in Dortmund in 1986...and that was a good one.....peace
they were great in Cardiff tonight (no surprise) but it was as I said......the same setlist as previous nights. They need to stop being lazy and try changing out 3 or 4 songs each night.....start playing songs like The Prisoner again, and its a shame that they totally ignore Somewhere in time and No Prayer for the dying these days.
@X10090 big respect to Gers for helping the band keep going when Adrian left but Maiden produced their best albums when it was Adrian and Dave as the only guitarists
they will be good tonight but its boring I already know what they are gunna play and I also think its lazy of the band not to play some more interesting songs that the long time fans wanna hear rather than just playing the same setlists night in night out.
@rokstar48 agreed, it's alway quite impressive when a band changes their set every night...but you will always get a tight set with maiden and i'd always want to hear hallowed be thy name
@sboraston being in music myself I understand its easier to keep pretty set to what your gunna play but you should change a few songs each night. Looked at their last 4 shows and the set is EXACTLY the same, including the running order....pretty boring if you ask me. And I cant stand that song tbh....Piece of Mind, Powerslave, Somewhere in time, Seventh Son....are the bands best albums if you ask me.
@rokstar48 : I can see what your saying but look at it from Maidens point of view? I saw the start of the F.F world tour at Soni last year and this set was nothing like this one. They only played El Dorado at Soni. Also pound to a pinch of shit a year on since the tour started and the fans are even younger still!! Personnally I thought it was a well thought out set something for everyone to sing too.!! UP THE IRONS!!!
one thing thats slightly boring with this band (and Iam seeing them tonight, and I do love them) is the fact that their setlists are sooooooooooooooo boring. Considering the amount of great albums they have, why o why do they play Iron Maiden, Hallowed be thy name, The Trooper, Fear of the dark.......seemingly at every gig, when these are some of their worst songs!!. As a long time fan I wanna hear stuff like To Tame a land or Caught Somewhere in time or even stuff like The Assassin. I know....
i liked airbourne i did lol, too much screamy screamy though, but as i like ac/dc im bound to like theyre fucking kids hahaha :D anyfuck, i loved that night best night of my life!
