  • Omg this video is what started me liking all the canon rock versions like a year ago, when i had my dark magic 2 -.-

  • Yay!! I finally got to clean my onedrop 10 ball bearing!! (You probably don't care) Spins smooth! :)

  • @qoby999 its cannon rock.

  • i have a dark magic 2, and i took the sheilds off, when i put them back on everything was fine but the sheilds dont spin freely.

    is that normal?

  • The first thing I do with all Terrapin X bearings is to wash them with dish detergent and water. Gets out all the machining fragments and oil....fjh123

  • hey dude i have a yyf popstar and i loved it but the bearing went all weird so i cleand it out but still a few days ago when i would flick the bearing it would spin for 7 seconds but now when i flick the bearing it spins for like 1 second and makes a weird noise why is this

  • whats the song title??

  • @smyejhamza Stairway to Heaven

  • Can you use nail polish remover?

  • i can't get my fucking c clips out, any advise from anybody?

  • @longschlong666 take it out as if you were digging soil out.

  • wtf are my bearing my baring suppossed to be hard to get out?

  • so u just put it in the container and shake for 3-4 minutes?

  • Oh, sorry. It's in the end...

  • What is this music called? I liked it a lot!

  • muchas gracias

  • Can i use silicone spray

  • Can i use silicone spray?

  • for the 1st liquid can we use palm oil ,PLEASE RESPOND

  • @nathan7grind No I would not recommend using palm oil at all, especially for the first liquid. The first liquid used here is mineral spirits and it is used to clean out all of the oil that was in the bearing originally. Using oil to clean an oil out doesnt make much sense does it?

Use mineral spirits or paint thinner for cleaning, and then a little YYJ thin lube or gun oil for lube afterwards.

  • @kayjay1196 thx a lot , i almost bring my yoyo 1 step to the grave

  • @tyo103 Yes, the HM and DM use the same bearing.

  • Can Mineral Spirits be dangerous? Is it bad if you inhale it?

  • @KingJulien12 It can be. Be sure to read the warnings on the label and use a little bit of common sense when using it and you should be fine.

  • thanx my duncan squirrel sleeps for 1min 23 secs on avereg

  • Thank you for the video. Needed to learn how to do this and you've done it fantastically :D Will try it out soon :]

  • should i do 1 needle drop? or 2 also would i need to break the lube in? cause i did this and put 1 drop on a needle and the bearing spins slow and i just got it

  • You could just stop being a tight arse and buy a new bearing, to save yourself the time and faff. If you can't spare the pennies then I suggest rinsing it out with water before applying the lube. Just so that any leftover degreaser (and there will be some traces left since it wasn't dried properly/adequately) doesn't break down the fresh lube.

  • @condowallace Rinsing a bearing with water is probably the worst advice ever for a bearing. Bearings are made of steel and water creates rust.

  • @Luuuke Most decent quality bearings are made from stainless steel, so they shouldn't be affected by water. Also, I maybe should have mentioned to dry them out thoroughly to make sure no water is present.

  • @condowallace Stainless steel bearings can rust too. They're stain-less, not stain-proof. It's just a bad idea to use anything with water on anything that's metal.

  • @Luuuke Stainless steel rusts in exactly the same way aluminium and titanium, etc. does. The oxidised metal acts as a barrier, because of it's harder properties, and protects the metal from oxidising further. So in other words, in order to protect it's self it must rust. Rusting isn't noticeable in aluminium, etc. because the metal oxide is near enough the same colour as the pure metal.

  • @condowallace my "stainless" steel bearing rusted like 3 ndays after i rinsed it in water so then i had to really buy a new bearing

  • @condowallace Luuuke is right. If you wanna rinse them, do it in isopropyl alcohol; shake or agitate the bearings in it, but don't leave it in long. It's not for soaking like your solvent or bearing cleaner.

If you blowdry the bearings, wait for them to cool again before you lube.

  • @koyukionna, Luuuke, Itsmeubeep13. For christ sake, try reading every comment before replying. Yes, as I said before you MUST dry them thoroughly before applying lube. A quick dip in water will do not harm provided they are dried properly. I thought drying any metal after contact with water would have been common sense, but obviously that's not fucking case.

  • @condowallace I did read every comment.

  • @condowallace and epic music

  • @condowallace how bout YOU stop being an ARSH and stop hating other peoples videos ass

  • how often should I clean my bearing?

  • thank you

  • Always use YoYo Jam lube people! Thin for a less responsive YoYo, and Thick lube for more responsive. I got my Dark Magic :] Imma make a tutorial like this when I get my KonCave bearing.

  • I can t do this WHY?

  • why cant you do it

  • What Song is this?

  • a rock version of pachenbels canon in d major.

  • actually its just canon in D the song is in both Major and minor

  • Lol, i break it :(

  • trumpet valve oil is good for lubing. BUT BE CAREFUL WITH PLASTIC YOYOS. the oil is sometimes corrosive on some plastics

  • thats a hitman

  • yap

  • and can you use methalayed spirits

  • To properly clean a bearing, the shields MUST be removed. I recommend cleaning with Odorless Mineral Spirits ONLY.

  • dose methalayed spirits work

  • is it nessary to take out the shields and pins if you just want toput lube in it

  • No.

  • hey is it nesecary to take everything out cant youy just put the and shake or do you have to take everything out

  • I'm getting akk what should i do?

  • hey is that a YYJ DM?

  • No it's a hitman read the credits for god sake.

  • Cool music. Canon rock rocks. :)

  • can i ask ? r u using grease or something else and tell me where you can buy that stuff pls reply as soon as possible

  • what is the song?

  • canon rock, it's name the song, sory my englesh is bad

  • thx........very simple n precise....good informative video...

  • even after watching this i have no idea how to get the bearing off xD

    hmmm...

  • what yo do u have, a problem i had was that i was scared to put pressure on the bearing because i thought it would break, but bearings are durable so dont be afraid to put pressure

  • well, i just got a new bearing and was able to clean THAT one. Its a dark magic. Its that the C-clips dont stick out very much and i cant get the pin around them to pry them out.

  • This music makes this video.

  • do you need to put lube on ever ball bearing or just one, and while doing this make your yo yo responsive or unresponsive?

  • awesome tutorial !!!!!! thx alot

  • Thanks for the video, Glad to see it done, I was very nervous about taking apart the bearing on my new Superstar. Do you have any recommendations for lube besides the YYJ Thin? I don't know if the brain lube will make it too responsive.

  • Remington makes some gun oil called RemOil. You can pick it up in the sporting goods section of Walmart for a couple of bucks. It's very thin oil and works basically the same as YYJ thin. It might not be safe on plastic but it'll be fine to use with your Superstar.

Is there anything wrong with the bearing in your Superstar? The bearings in those are usually quite unresponsive and shouldnt need to be cleaned and lubed.

  • The bearing itself was great out of the box, but the metal was squeaking\grinding against the axle as I screwed and unscrewed it, so I applied a bit of WD40 to it. Some of it must have leaked into the bearing, which made it very responsive, much to my dismay. The bearings are running great and smooth now thanks to you. I may or may not get some lube for it.

If it ruins the bearings a bit sometime down the line because of it, it doesn't seem like they're too expensive to replace.

  • Even with all the mods I've done for other people, I've been using that same bottle for a few years now. It's getting low but it has lasted forever. Definitely worth the $5 that it costs.

  • Do you know how to clean bearings using "Contact Cleaner"?.

If it is, Can you teach me?

  • Are you talking about cleaner for contact lenses or that circuit board contact cleaner spray?

  • @Luuuke I want to learn how to with contact lenses cleaner.

  • i laughed when u pricked ur finger.

and who would ever need that big of a bottle of lube when u only use a tiny drop

    o.O

    great tutorial!

  • Yomega Brain Lube will work but it's pretty thick and might cause your yoyo to become responsive. If you add the tiniest little bit though, it should be okay.

  • what bearing is that?

  • It's the stock bearing that came in my Hitman.

  • It's the stock bearing that came with my Hitman.

  • what yoyo is that

  • hitman i think

  • Hitman indeed. Wait for the credits and you'll see =]

  • my DM is rough on the string what should i do plz help

  • Clean and relube the bearing.

  • it was soo funny when u poked urself with the needle and doing the wrench thingy lol

  • i might get a dark magic with a counterweight for this competition im entering.

    Any help?

  • Any help for what?

  • i mean like any tips on how i should perform or what should i do if my bearring comes off anything really

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah you can do this to 2A yoyo's as well, but like you said, use THICK lube instead.

Lighter fluid is ok to use as well, just be careful with it.

  • Comment removed

  • Im new to yoyoing but what are the dice for, i ordered a yoyo and it came with things like that,

  • the dice are for counterweight play. also known as 5a.

its when the yoyo isnt connected to your finger and you hold the dice.

just look up counterweight yoyo on youtube and youll see all the fundementals.

    hope i helped.

  • Normally, bearings with ZZ shield or LLU seals have grease inside. Cleaning bearings in this way will also wash out the grease. I do not think it is a proper way.

  • Removing the grease is the entire purpose of cleaning yoyo bearings.

  • does it have 2 b the tip of a paintbrush? or can i use like chopsticks or a pencil?

  • Of course it doesnt have to be the tip of a paintbrush. Use anything that works.

  • so, i can use any paint diluant?

  • with my kk bearing the shield wont come off. why?

  • The shields will come off, the c-clips holding them on are just a little harder to see and more difficult to remove sometimes. Make sure there's plenty of lighting and use a magnifying glass if you need to.

  • da c-clips do come off, its da shield i got a c-clip, got it in da lil gap and gently puled but they wont come out

  • the gap is the little hole in the c-clip i think you should just pull harder;) they will eventually come out. mine did

  • i tried but mine didnt have c clips. it just had a metal shield that seemed impossible to get off so i stabbed it and ripped it off and now my bearings are screwed.

    :O what a retard

  • well no because he didnt say rip your bearings apart did he !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • nice vid!

  • Lol at 0:53 to 0:58

  • cheerz!!

  • what song is that its good!!!

  • Canon

  • Canon in D - Jerry C, he's got lots of other songs you'll find awesome too.

  • Hi!

what is other lubricant u can use as a REPLACE of the thin lube...

what i mean what lubricant or a certain liquid will i put to my bearing to make my yo-yo unresponsive...

    that's all..

    bye!

  • I can't find the c-clips. I have a metallic missle and they have really small bearings (size E). Can I even take the sides off to get to the bearings?

  • will anything happen if i just lube the yoyo regularly without cleaning it?

  • Nothing will happen if you dont clean it before lubing it. It will still be responsive and if your bearing was not spinning good before (like it was locked up or something), it'll still not spin good after you lube it.

If there's nothing wrong with your bearing and you like the level of response it has, then just leave it alone.

  • sweet thanks!! just one more question. does it make a big difference of how long the bearing life lasts if you clean it??

  • is that a dark magic if it is i have one to

  • No, as stated at the end of the video, it's a Hitman.

  • do i need to put the c clips back in i lost one lol

  • Replacing the c-clips and shields is optional. If you'd rather not fool with it, then simply dont fool with it. Your bearing should be fine.

  • NICE! cannon rock is an awsome song

  • I can't get the dang c-rings out.

  • can i do this with a kk bearing ?

  • Yes, you can clean a KK bearing.

  • thanx now i have lost the 1 c ring it flicked out i just left the other in im not bothering with it. oh yeah it spins better with only one c ring still going to clean without deshielding it

  • do the bearings come lubed when you bu them PLZ RESPONDED

  • yea, they come thick lubed, so they spin slower and higher response to prevent rust. lol, just so you know, if you buy a hitman, it will come extremely responsive out of the box, so u have to break down the lube, "breaking the bearing" lol.

  • what does this all do to your yoyo?

  • makes it spin faster but if it is a plastic yoyo it might crack

  • i have a dark magic and kk bearing should i do this the dark magic has some plastic in the middle i think but metal on the outside

  • you can clean the bearing be shoor 2 dry the bearing proberly

  • how is it soooooo easy 4 u. some times it takes me like 10 min to get them out with a hobby knife

  • any tips?? o.o

  • OMG! taking out the c clip is so dam fricken hard ive been working on it for hours

  • You do realize that you can turn the volume down, right?

  • Same here

  • LAWL see that gap ?@?@?@?@?@

  • Thanks! I finally cleaned my bearing, it is soooo good now! Anyway, I dont have any thin lube, so is it okay that I put in clipper oil?

  • oh sry.... never mind i saw it on the end...

  • it helped me realy :] what is your yoyo name?? is it henrys??

  • YoYoJam Hitman

  • I still can't get the bearing off my yo-yo >.>

  • Really good guide...and I really rofled at the "needles are sharp" part, you have reminded me my mother:D

  • lol when u shook the bottle, it matched the guitar rif

  • Thanks that really helped

  • The orings are orange/red because the black ones have been replaced with silicone.

  • did he use thin lube or thick someone please help???

  • I used thin lube. Only use thick lube if you want your bearing to be responsive.

  • Thank you

  • can i use another lube instead of yyj thin or thick lube or yomega brain lube? like machine oil? cos i applied it hehe.

  • It's not recommended, but it looks like you've done so anyways.

REM Oil (gun oil) will work good if you're out of yoyo lube. You can pick some up at Walmart for about $3.

  • canon rock!!

    (the song)

  • If my bearing isn't tightly seated will it affect performance?

I can take out my xconvict bearing with some picking sans pliers

  • Thanks man. This was really helpful.

  • Duncan ProYo? I have one, its a bitch to get to spin, my friend has one and he always brings it to school and does insane tricks and I'm like >.>

  • i live in méxico so i dont know where to find lube and the mineral spirits is like soap or what is it?

  • mineral spirits is a paint thinner

  • im a realy noob so i need to know why to do all this?

  • to make your yoyo unresponsive and make it spin longer

  • well done!

  • dang how do they make stuff that small

  • life saver

  • hmmm....

i cant seem to find a "C clip"

in my bearing its off a yoyojam xconvict so bassicly a YYJ C Bearing

    help please????? =D

  • Don't worry, the "C clip" is there. It's just very hard to see. Use a bright light to find it.

If you didn't have a "C clip", then the shield would very easily fall off.

I have a xConvict, too so I know what I'm talking about.

    Hope this helps! :D

  • Can I use lighter fluid instead of mineral spirits to clean it?

  • Yes, lighter fluid will work as well.

  • what response is that?

  • recessed silicone

  • oh is the regular (not hybrid) hitman good? i was thinking of getting one but im also thinking of getting the dark magic. plz help!

  • get dark magic if u want an oversized hitman

    yes, hitman is good.

its pretty much based on your references, they are almost the same.

  • k but i wanna know is the dark magic like better?
