I think this show or a show like it should currently air. Yeah it may not support the whole thing of lets make millions like the major networks want but the fact is theses shows are entertaining to everyone and emergency situations happen every day so there would be no shortage of content. Plus all that aside these type of shows actually teach people and save lives; this much has been proven.
So here's the deal. I used to LOVE this show. My dad, my brother, and I used to watch this show every time it was on TV. We LOVED it. The only one who didn't like it was my mom- she said it made her nervous. I didn't understand that as a child, but I do now. My dad was killed when I was a teenager in a terrible accident, and now I can't bare to watch other people in emergency situations like on this show. I actually got nervous watching the intro just now. It's crazy how point of view can change
September 11, 2001 was planned years in the making. 9/11 means 9-1-1. Everybody was calling this number. Everybody needed the fire trucks, ambulances, and the cops. The ultimate emergency call
I didn't watch this when I was younger so I didn't remember the opening but this gives me chills now even though I'm watching it on Youtube they should put this back on TV or on DVD either will do<3
@CubbieKing130:36 is "Church Bus" from the pilot episode (later re-aired on 117), although that particular scene with the helicopter was not seen in the actual segment.
0:39 That scene was never shown on the show, but my guess is that it is unused footage from "Baltimore Cops" on Episode 106.
0:46 Was also never shown on the show, but I'm pretty sure it's an unused scene from "Flooded Cave" from Episode 107.
the reason that they did not reshow the part with the helicoptor is that the person they were trying to save did not make it . they were family friends
I've looked through many of these episodes, and I just nostalgasm'd when I found Sibling Stabbing, Frozen Tongue and a third one. I saw this on TV in Norway (probably the Reality TV channel).
@prettiestnightmare87 Well one it doesn't try to sell anything, so the networks weren't paid for advertising. Two, its not the voyeurist psuedo reality of Big Brother and Survivor, so it's too real for "target demographics." Three, the victims being helped in most episodes are white anglo-saxons, so the producers were biased. And four, Rescue 911 isn't COPS, it doesn't showcase police brutality, and there's a lot of money in being anti-law enforcement today.
I loved this show as a kid as well! Wish they played re-runs and up until a few months ago, they played Unsolved Mysteries late at night, now I can't find those anywhere on tv either :( Thank goodness America's Most Wanted is still on, lol.
Tarzan, unsolved mysteries and this was on every tuesday night, and it was the one night of the week my mom let me stay up until 10:00 to watch them. I looked forward to that night all week long.
Whenever you see the silver table in the beginning, my parents always joked with us "Oh no, there's a Dinosaur in my kitchen!" because it looked like that part of Jurassic Park.
good god this opening is so horrifying! Yet I still watched it as a six year old despite the nightmares it game me bahahaha. I even remember buying a rescue 911 book from the book fair I was so stoked!!!! LONG LIVE THE 90's!!!!!!!!!!!
If Rescue 9-1-1 ever came back and Shatner either decided not to or was unable to host it, who do you guys think would make a good host? Just wondering.
Dude I lovvvvvveed watching this before going to school when I was little. I'm 22 now and I can still hum the song perfectly. This show wasssss so awesome.
is there anywhere one can get a DVD or downloads of each season in full? or a videotape uploaded somewhere in its entirety? thanks =] i want to share as many of theese as i can
@shadowwolfz I know what we need... BRAND-NEW, as in 2011, Rescue 911 episodes! Seriously, they should have never stopped making it! The Simpsons is only three months younger and it's still strong, am I right?
@whattheheck1000 I'm in a total agreement with you on this one. I would to see a update version of the show with the same theme song. Probably with the google map of location of event and such as something to add with. I would love to see Shatner as host of the show as well, but I don't know.
@PredatorBrendan Shatner is going to turn 80 in nine days (as of March 13, 2011 1:10 am), so by the time they could get a new Rescue 911 out there, he'd be at least 80-81. It would be cool, but sadly I think he's too old now unless he pulls a Clara Peller. But the show idea would still work in 2011, indeed, it'd save a lot of lives and be a very interesting show to watch. And to allgood2000, you've probably saved lives by having this up. Sleep good at night (:
Hell, I'm thirty this year and this song still gives me chills. But it also brings back fond memories of when I was fifteen and I'd watch this show almost religiously while snacking on Gardettos LOL. And the family knew not to bother me when eight o'clock rolled around on Tuesday nights because Resce 911 came on. I definitely wish they'd bring it back, even if it was just to air reruns. Of course I wouldn't complain about new episodes as long as they were done right.
As a kid I thought the little black girl screaming at 0:50 was a saxophone. Even with the little black girl screaming on the screen right in front of me.
I used to watch this show when I was like 5 years old with my parents. This brings back a ton of memories. I am surprised I actually remember what the theme song sounded like. Thanks for uploading!
Damn i remember this show from when i was a kid. lol The Music to the intro use to scare me, with all the people calling in screaming and reporting those things. I still watched it though.
In my opinion one of the scariest episodes was set somewhere in the plains where a malfunction propane water heater burned the hell out of the two kids when their father tried to light it.
Clearly disturbing music, but for me NOTHING compares to the Unsolved Mysteries theme song, that gave me nightmares and I'm sure if I ever listen to it again I'll get serious chills.

Man this song scared me. I only remember watching the last three seasons of it. This show was the best. Tuesday nights at 8:00. This was like one of the first reality shows on tv. I wanna say it was on from 1988 to 1996. I wish I had this show on VHS or something. 90s shows scared me. I wish this was Still on!
@Chillinguy05 They have a few clips in the intro that were never used in the show. The clip of the guy swimming through an icy river to rescue a plane crash survivor was never covered on the either.
@ninababy97 They don't have it on DVD, and they don't plan to release it because they don't think enough people would be interested in buying it. You can vote for it at tvshowsondvd(dot)com
I think this show or a show like it should currently air. When I was a kid, this show's intro used to scare me because of all the suffering it depicts.

@ninababy97 They don't have it on DVD, and they don't plan to release it because they don't think enough people would be interested in buying it. You can vote for it at tvshowsondvd(dot)com

Just wondering. Anyone know what the beeping sounds are at 0:31 and 0:43? I've always wondered that!
