  • Double dropkick was so lame.

  • worst tag finish EVER

  • RnR still has what it takes...AWESOME!!!

  • The Rock'N'Roll Express's Theme was soon later used by Jim Cornette at the Gimmick Battle Royal.

  • Ah yes..Duane Gill before he became...Gillberg

  • its awesome the RnR came to WWF for a bit...too bad it wasnt in time for an awesome fued with the Rockers...The one from Memphis was good. But shoulda been on a more national scale.

  • @stoningtonj Considering the Steiners were around this time, a feud with Rick and Scott or maybe a dream match with Bret and Owen would have been awesome.

  • The Rock & Roll Express in the WWF(I know it's the WWE now) I couldn't believe it at first when I saw it then and even now it's a still a shock

  • This whole angle was strange--for the previous 9 years, the WWF had acted as if other wrestling organizations didn't exist, then suddenly they were using up entire segments promoting Smokey Mountain--and this was barely a year after WCW had been doing it!

  • I used to "manage" the Rock & Roll Express during the Smoky Mountain days. Robert was my neighbor.

  • Bullshit. Prove it.

    Oh thats right...you cant.

  • Barry Hardy's son Brian is one of our wrestlers on our roster.

  • I saw this match back in 1993, and I couldn't believe it. Even sixteen years later, the mere thought of hearing Vince McMahon call a match featuring the Rock N' Roll Express still seems utterly surreal. Great post.

  • Is Barry Hardy related to the Hardy Boyz?

  • @mcog2006 No relation.

  • Great rarity! This was the first time the Rock 'N' Roll Express appeared in the WWF/E, culminating in a SMW tag team title match at Survivor Series '93 against The Heavenly Bodies, in which they lost. The returned to the Federation however, in 1997, this time managed by Jim Cornette, and feuding with The Headbangers over the NWA tag team titles, until they were turned on by Cornette and his New Midnight Express - Bob Holly and Bart Gunn.

Hardy and Gill also wrestled as The Executioners.

  • I have won many bets of this match. Nobody will believe the RNR were in the WWF.
