  • Haha, i did this two weeks ago when my corkscrew snapped

  • YO, this is AWESOME

  • i used my jimmy choos and a giant sequoia tree and it still doesn't work

  • Damn- it doesn't work with a screw-top

  • FUCKKK IT DOENST FUCKIN WORK LOL !!!!

  • quel gros loser, achete-toi un ouvre-bouteille, ca coute un euro

  • This was a lesson I learned in college over 25 yrs ago. But we used a wonderful old california oak tree and wrapped the bottle with a sweat shirt. Then did exactly what he has described above with the bottle wrapped in the sweat shirt. It does work with regular corks. i have not tried it with the synthetic ones.

  • lòl_Î_fëël_só_lóñêlÿ_töÐãý

  • Tried this, didn't do a thing. Maybe it only works on very specific types of corks, or bottles, or wines.

  • I tried this with a bottle of Cabernet and had no success. I peeled the plastic wrapper off the bottle, used an athletic shoe and a large spruce tree.Maybe it should have been a dress shoe? All that happened was I got a very sore hand, a bottle of agitated wine and flushed one very frightened woodpecker out of its roost.

  • Well done!

  • And here's another example, except the guy is more drunk:

  • To anyone who thinks this is fake: TRY IT YOURSELF before giving us your inane opinions.

  • This technique is great if you don't live in a dorm and can't just go banging things against the wall. Oh well.

  • Now show me how to do it with a beer mate!! No second bottle nor bottle top, no opener, no benches or surfaces to use, no lighter or cutlery and let's assume I lost all my teeth opening the previous 32...

  • You could always use a toilet! watch?v=LYV3jyHNdKU

  • crack addicts do that ,cept they use mofu heads

  • Everyone is so funny here--aged Bordeaux, vintage Port. This is a picnic we're talking about. Almost nobody will be drinking more than a $15 bottle of wine. The shock shouldn't damage something of that quality. If they are drinking something more expensive, they won't have forgotten the corkscrew.

  • What's that accent ? Sounds fake to me... Anyway, a real French wine lover would never drink a "nice bordeaux" straight from the neck and would at least allow the wine to rest for a while before tasting it after being shaken like that. Shocking !

  • Hmmm! Seems like he just ruined one of his good shoes. Also, never shake wine.

I don't drink so I don't really care; however, for those of you who do, buy a corkscrew.

  • Hmmm! Seems like he just ruined one of his good shoes.

  • This works with Box Franzia too!

  • can i use my nike shox if i forget the corkscrew?

  • @ruizgabriel123 Can't hurt to try?! Let us know if the shox work as well or better than a normal shoe!

  • Les chaussures aiment le liège. Et vous? faites un tour sur la page Facebook de Jaimeleliege...

  • Drinking in Public... for shame

  • shut the fuck up napa valley. ur a liar and a thief.

  • Love it! A true gourmand would nevah drink from the bottle- a straw is de rigeur!

  • And the glass never breaks?

  • @Muhree100 hence the shoe to absorb the shock. did you miss that part or did you fall asleep?

  • very cool...

  • Looks like it takes a lot more strikes than shown here. He hits it four times and the cork hardly moves, but then it cuts to a shot where the cork is mostly out. Still, an awesome technique!

  • Unbelievable! I wonder what kind of notes this portrays on the nose? lol...

  • So much better when the sediment is fully mixed back into the wine!

  • How to open a Bottle of Wine without a corkscrew

  • only thing is..if you shake wine like that you'll probably ruin it.

  • @cooch555 shaking wine ruins it? its not carbonated lol

  • Thanks for educating us all who didn't know this. Man this really could have helped me several times on dates in the past, sure beats pushing the cork into the bottle! :) Thanks again.

  • I grew up in the Napa Valley and had never heard of this. Very cool.

  • have seen this done with my own eyes 25 years ago--works by shock waves created by the strike impact force. The impulse is transmitted to the cork with little attenuation (some compression in the air pocket). The cork takes the impulse force and overcomes the static friction ... each strike moving a small fraction of an inch. The example i saw took about fifty blows of reasonbly strong force creating a bit of fear that the bottle was at risk of breaking--would advise some caution. it's real.

  • A decision about whether this ids a hoax needed?? Nope. The set-up of the delivery truck, taxi and the two cars in front is not supporting a significant delay in the shooting of this.. Grey hair?? Short hair on the top of his head with visibility to the scalp.. If it is a stand in it is well done. Still cannot discount the replacement bottle though.. So I tried it. I now have an open bottle of vino and no time to drink it.. (It will breath for a day now..)

  • A deux chevaux behind him. Can you put those on the road here in US?

  • thanks for the info. I have found myself in this situation on many occasions. Usually when traveling.

  • I trieda, buta did nota makeita worka~

  • yeah totally fake you can see the guy starts with dark hair and later he has grey hair and no mustache. So he was a stand in along with the new already opened bottle. I have seen this trick on stage in Iowa last year. Good job.

  • Very cute - all of it but not such a great idea for my stilettos!

Not a good idea for those beautiful old aged bordeaux's either

Thank you for a novel idea

  • Thank you for the wonderful tip. Is that your cute little Shih Tzu in the car?

  • The glass neck was not red, it was a red wrapping on the neck. He just did not show the removal of it to waste our time. The video was edited to save time and get to the point. But most intelligent people would understand this anyway and not question why there are edits in it. As far as the rest goes, just got to try it one day.

  • they checked it on german television and it really works! But be aware it also can explode!

  • I had never heard of this before! Great tip, thank you!

  • You put the put the bottle in your shoe (better not be a sneaker) then you step in dog sh*t and then you crack the bottle against the tree and the next time you come back to the same place the tree is dead. Don't forget the corkscrew assh**le!

  • thats the wraping on the bottle

  • Fabulous! Please tell me, will this also work with white wine?

  • Fabulous! Please tell me, will this also work with white wine?

  • @andromeda610

DUH...the mechanics would be the same! The bottle could be filled with water and this would still work. Just remember to remove the foil seal first.

  • @77gambit77 Well, considering that the effect might have something to do with gases from carbon dioxide contained in red wine, it might not be such a "DUH" question to ask. Not sure white wine contains the same amount of gases. But thanks for your answer anyway. Althoung I doubt it would work with water...I'll try it out.

  • It definitely took a man to figure this one out, somehow I don't think this idea would work using high heels . . .

  • you dumb f-s, of course it works. I've done it before, but by just banging the bottom of the bottle on a fallen tree trunk (which is a little scary because you wonder if the bottle might break). So I like the shoe add-on. If you don't think it works, why don't you try it first before slagging the guy.

  • It probably didn't work for you non believing Red-necks..... cuz u prolly used flip flops, ats why da bottle broke, and u prolly tried it on a PBR bottle

  • This really does work; I've seen it done a few times. All I can say is that you non-believers try it and you will see.

  • Bordeaux, yes. But I wouldn't ruin a vintage port by trying that.

  • I'm skeptical. I see no scientific reason that it should work. The only conceivable principle that I can think of is that the impact slightly deforms the bottom of the bottle and the shock wave travels through the wine and pushes on the cork. But that glass doesn't deform much, there's air in the bottle that will absorb the shock, and the area of the cork is smaller than the base of the bottle, which will be backwards of what you want.

  • @trekgeek1 perhaps you should think some more. physics and such. think where is the air?

  • @borg22222

I believe my comment exhibited sufficient analysis. My biggest gripe was with the deflection of the glass. Second was the conservation of energy as you are applying a force to a large area and transmitting it to a smaller area which will reduce the mechanical advantage. Third, any air anywhere in the bottle will allow the energy to be absorbed through the compression of the gas. Please provide your explanation if you have the answer. I'm always up for learning something new.

  • I'll have to try this with the cheap stuff first.

  • @ylreveb23 Hi there, thanks for viewing our video. We would be happy to demo the technique live for you one day! In the meantime, notice the red wrapping is peeled off before he begins using his shoe. You can tell it's not empty as the cork is still sealed in. Make sure to take off the wrapping before attempting as the cork needs room to move out of the bottle. Thanks for watching!

  • @BistroBordeaux

Thank you for a class response to such a no class comment.

  • @ylreveb23 your post is fake.

  • @ylreveb23 Yeah you caught it. Also you can see the guy starts with dark hair and then later the stand in has grey hair along with the replacement bottle. Good trick I did see last year in New Jersey. great

  • Tried it. The bottle broke.

  • @SlartyFartBlast Maybe you need better shoes.

  • Assuming it does work, wouldn't THAT stir up the sediment! Yuck...

  • Good one to know - - if it works! May have to try it one day :)

  • FAKE!

  • What crap. This guy is a fake Frenchman. All the sediment is now interspersed throughout the wine. He drinks from the bottle, come on, and he doesn't let it breathe. Bordeaux? It may as well be Gallo red jug wine. Even the accent is fake. He's too masculine to be french!

  • Now this is the type of stuff I wish they taught in high school physics.

  • THAT'S COMPLETE CRAP! NOT TO MENTION, IT WOULD RUIN THE WINE FOR DRINKING... NICE TRY, THOUGH. HAVE FUN SOAKING YOUR BOOTS! ; {)>

  • Knowledge is power :)

  • It's the Deux Chevaux in the background that lends it the necessary credibility. :)

  • @MrAndersoncouncil I always loved those Citroen "minis". Great little ride. I wanted to bring one home in the 70's. Kinda rare here stateside.

  • @boardsailor

    Tres, vrai, mon ami.

  • Comment removed

  • I cannot WAIT to try that one. I hope I don't bust a heel on my sandals.

    tee hee

  • @krazymetalkid22 This is the real deal. This is a trick most people learn in their teens in Bordeaux.

  • I wish I had viewed this video years ago, much better than opening with a knife.

  • THIS IS AMAZING!! LIFE CHANGED I HAVE FOUND MY LORD AND SAVIER LETS DRINK WINE AND BEAT EACHOTHER WITH SHOESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!

  • Perfect. Thank you.

  • And to think I've been pushing the cork into the bottle all these years.

  • absolutely brilliant!

  • Nice Deux Chevaux!

  • Critical survival skill. Thanks!!!
