  • @JMDewald Thank you.

  • yes! awesome!

  • @gilliancarson Thank you!

  • cool!! btw what microphone is that?

  • @shapeworkstudios1 It is AKG C2000B.

  • condenser mike ? just wondering

  • @ron619 Yes, it is.

  • I have enjoyed coming back to listen to the songs that you have recorded a while ago. Great picking!

  • @justpickn Thank you for coming back.

  • Dope as Hell!

  • @o0R3stless0o It is legal one, I think.

  • Incredible. Did you transcribe this to guitar yourself?

  • @IReallyAmIronMan Thank you. The first two sections are based on someone else's and I added two other sections myself.

  • Sure "Fingerstyle".

  • @megawtfmusic It sure is a fingerstyle guitar.

  • THANK YOU FOR SHARING. WHAT A WONDERFUL WAY TO ENJOY THE MUSIC OF A BYGONE ERA. KEEP THOSE VIDEOS COMING.

  • @aredamzd1 Thank you. It is my pleasure.

  • Positive technique.

    Brightly.

    I was refreshed.

  • @gyotan Thank you. Glad to hear that you were refreshed. We all need that sometimes.

  • This is absolutely fantastic!!!!

  • @TrapHoundz Thank you!

  • Awesome!

  • @fryskidingo Thank you!

  • what tuning is this? standard?

and also what key are you playing this in?

    its amazing btw!

  • @crazydale29 Thank you! It is in the standard tuning and the key is A.

  • this is AWESOME!!!!! i have been learning classical finger stylings and i think im gonna try to tackle this one next

  • @Nicksonite Thank you! I hope you have a lot of fun learning and picking it.

  • Very nice, bright and strong voice your guitar has.Nicely done!

  • @louswire Thank you!

  • A very great moment !

  • Hey man send me the score please

  • @TheJotamusic The score/tabs of this and some others are available to those who purchased my CDs as to show my appreciation. I need some pushes to go on. I hope you understand.

  • Wow

  • @TheJotamusic Thank you.

  • Compliments!!

You succeed in making to seem simple that is difficult instead.

Is it yours arrangement, or what tab did you use?

  • @solesatiricon Thank you! I've been playing this for more than thirty years and it is my arrangement based on some Kicking Mule players.

  • @peacejoytown So... congratulations... indeed!!!

    two more questions, please...

The brand of your classic guitar?

Do you play it due to more comfortable keyboard or simply do you prefer this sound to that of the acoustics?

  • @solesatiricon It is Jose Ramirez 2E. It is replaced by 125 Estudio now. I used to practice this piece on piano when I was is school but I don't own one.

  • @peacejoytown

on the piano do you play it in LA (as you do with the guitar) or in La bemolle as the original sheet music?

  • @solesatiricon I was playing in key of Ab (la bemolle) on piano. It is easier to play in key of A on guitar.

  • @peacejoytown

Well. A last question and I will not disturb you anymore...

I am interested in your performances of ragtime (and relative tabs) but looking at the titles of your CDs, I find only Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel and other songs from 70s.

Did you compose a CD in ragtime only?

  • @solesatiricon I don't have enough material to make an album for just Ragtime music. I used to play more ragtime songs when I didn't have all those Beatles and S&G arrangements but I forgot most of them.

  • did you compused that?

  • @the2009guy No. I arranged it.

  • Wonderful! Love your tone and execution. Crisp and brilliant

  • @ScottFree37 Thank you.

  • djbot is an idiot. Doesnt know talent when he hears it. Dont let it bother you peacejoytown! keep going!

  • @kutari Thank you! I learned not to be bothered by those.

  • @djbot Sorry about being cheapskates.

  • @peacejoytown you are not in any way sir, you are a fantastic guitar player who wishes to show his abilities to the world. I Truly enjoy your videos. Thank you

    Cameron

  • @ubacam Thank you Cameron.

  • @peacejoytown its ok your rendition sucked

  • @djbot Then why are you keep coming back? Should I block you?

  • @peacejoytown yeah do it bitch

  • @djbot Okay I will. Bye.

  • That was indescribably great.

  • @kimblers Thank you.

  • Well I don't think it is too fast!! Great job.

  • @zucchdog Thank you. It may be faster than the original though.

  • there's 6 men who we should have to split there balls... (I don't know if my english is clean, but I hope you understand what I mean)

  • @ClintOhYeah Some people feel that I play it too fast.

  • way to fast for my taste, whatever pleases you is what counts though!

take it easy man, keep on rollin

  • @Fruscianteistheman Thank you for the advise.

  • That sounded great. Looks like a serious mic. How do you record that? Does that go straight from the mic to a computer?

  • @tmc200527 Thank you. I used separate recorder for the audio for this video.

  • nice man , are the tabs free?

  • @guitarsalert Thank you. The score/tabs of this and some others are available to those who purchased my CDs as to show my appreciation. I need some push to keep on. I hope you understand.

  • I read in Ted Gioia's "The History of Jazz" that Joplin published this in 1899 and it was the first composition in history to sell over a million copies of sheet music.

    You played this excellently, peacejoytown.

  • @w9j15g Thank you. I studied that part of history too. His compositions still shines after more than a century.

  • good man yerself....now do it again tonight with 10 pints of Guinness in yer belly !

  • @tommyceol I don't drink beer.

  • of course it would be an asian to fingerpick this song perfectly

  • HI, I gave up classical guitar when I was 20 after 13 years of study. This video inspired me today to go out and get a guitar. Boy, I'm rusty as hell after 4 years of no playing but it feels so good to play again. Like meeting a friend you didn't realise you missed. Thank you so much for putting up this video :)

  • Good to hear that. Since you had a long years of study, you'll be refreshed in no time. (^^)

  • Dude, your guitar playing just kicks some serious ass.

  • Thank you.

  • do you learn by ear or music?

  • By ear mostly.

  • Time after time with your different videos I find myself just listening, shaking my head and saying "wow". The Lord has blessed you with a great talent.

  • Great job!

  • @Magg0t4Lif3 love balck dahlia murder.

  • Thank you. This has been my favorite for so many years.

  • this is no match for the peace and tranquility you get from hearing the Piano.

  • Do you mean that I shouldn't play this on guitar? Or I shouldn't be playing at all?

  • you know what? THE BEST VERSION that I'VE EVER HEARD

  • FANTASTIC !!

  • Thank you !

  • Wow. That song sounds amazing on classical guitar! What microphone are you using, or are you using a combination of mic and pickup! Gotta go find your CD's!

  • Thank you. I used AKG microphone for this. My Jose Ramirez 2E doesn't have a pickup. Your support will be greatly appreciated.

  • Out of this world... I really enjoyed it!

  • Thank you! Glad to hear that you enjoyed it.

  • Awesome playing! You should do the Entertainer by Scott Joplin too!

  • Thank you! I will do that when I come up with an idea.

I've just ordered 2 of your CDs!! :)

  • Thank you for ordering my CDs. m(_ _)m

Ragtime is fun to play on piano, isn't it? I used to play first two sections of this tune on piano, but I think I forgot it by now since I have no piano for a long time.

  • sensational!

  • Thank you!

  • What a wonderful perfomance! I play the guitar to and I love Maple Leaf Rag...

  • Thank you! This is a fun tune to play isn't it?

  • Yes, I agree...

I'm trying to learn a guitar version of the MLR, but it's not easy!!!!

  • It is not easy since this tune was originally written for piano where you can have as many as ten notes at the same time.

  • Another amazing posting! Can't wait to see what you post for the Christmas holidays!

    Terry in Alexis, NC, USA

  • Thank you Terry. I will think about something.

  • Wow, that was sweet, this is the 1st time I'm seeing ragtime done on guitar! Awesome playing!

  • Thank you! There are a genre called "Ragtime Guitar". Although I am not really into it but I like Scott Joplin and some other ragtime piano composers just as I like The Beatles and S&G.

  • This is great! I really love seeing and hearing you play ragtime, and I hope you'll be inspired to record some more Joplin or other ragtime tunes sometime. It's a somewhat different aspect of your talent than we get to see with your arrangements of pop songs (though of course I love those, too).

  • Thank you! Ragtime guitar and country blues guitar are the foundation of my playing now. I used to play and arrange Scott Joplin tunes but now this is the only one I remember.

  • I would love to hear you play some country blues, too.

  • I'll try to see if I remember any.

  • BRILLIANT

  • Thank you.
