@lokkihammer Bavarian lagers would not exist if it weren't for superior British brewing; your brewers came over and stole samples of our Burton Pale Ale because it was so good. German beer is cold and gassy and has no bitterness *snore*. I'd almost say Hefeweizen was okay if it wasn't for old ladies!

It's pronounced Heef eee vit zen.
If it's Oktoberfest, it's not a hefeweizen. Hefe is a summer beer and does taste like lemon grass, banana and cloves.
Oktoberfest is fall beer and tastes nothing like a hefeweizen.

Have you tried Erdinger Weissbier Pikantus?
Its a bock beer so if you enjoy Shiner you might like it. I am very picky about my beer also. The nice thing is the alcohol content is much higher:)
