  • Raise your hand if you want to live like the Larkins? I sure do...

  • The one shown tonight on ITV3 was the one I was in when I was 14 were they used Pluckley Choir and this year are celebrating 25 years I still live in the village have done since I was 2 in 83.

Lovely place to live gets very busy in the summer due to the show. We used to follow them around and sit outside the farm entrance and watch them film became friends with Ian Tucker who played Monty lovely guy

  • What did it win at the Ivor Novellos? I can't read the rest of the label!

  • des love perfick kent

  • my nan (maiden name Bus) grew up on that farm, when it was owned by her nan.

  • I went to Buss Farm a few years ago and the elderly owner at that time very kindly allowed me to shoot a few video clips around the yard. It was rather surreal after being such a fan of the series.

I have of course got the full DVD set and play the whole lot once of twice a year.

    Sado I know!

A helper at my Guest House in Whitstable is also a Buss member but she won't make contact with the family who still run a small business in the village!

  • Lucky you. Would love to go there. Its beautiful. There & where they filmed Last of the summer wine in Yorkshire are on my to do list! Couldn't be further away from Scotland if they tried! haha x

  • Darling buds wasn't filmed in Scotland, its a place called Pluckley in Kent x

  • You are 100% correct. It was filmed on my gf's families farm.

  • Perfec

  • This was a beautiful show. I loved how Pa Largin and his family seemed to make life so "perfec".

  • You're so right :) "Perfick" is the only word to describe how fantastic this show was :)

  • It was a "perfick" show

  • i loved this programme... wish they would re-run the series :D xx

  • Yeah, me too! But... I live in Norway, so the chance that they would re-run the series here was pretty low... So I bought the whole serie :D

  • A seriously great show; no matter how shit your week had been or how hungover you were that Sunday, this always gave you a boost on Sunday night that sent you to bed feeling all warm and cozy inside, and a spring in your step on Monday morning.

And as my late grandmother noted, "all they ever seemed to was EAT!"

  • can't believe that motherly figure is 'miss trunchbull' in matilda!

  • brilliant show & music.. takes me back, thanks for uploading.

  • i live about 3 miles from the village and the pub is as shown in the show totally totally wonderful progarm, met david jason in the local resturant and he is an absolute gentleman, he had time for all the people whow came up to him he chatted for hours and hours.

  • Theres a small rural idyllic location in bonnie east Dunbartonshire which would be ideal if they did a remake - it even has its own beach - welcome to Twechar! A life of luxury is waiting.

  • Yes Ive seen that lovely village, the best of British. Rolling countryside and beautiful hills in the background. Warm beer and cricket pitches. A great place to be on a summers day, perfeck!

  • Warm beer and cricket pitches? You been listening to John major lol. DarlingBuds of May = Example of the time when regional productions MATATERED. Now everythings an itv production

  • Hodders my friend, this place really exists but I will let you into a small secret its in Scotland and not England. So come up north for a real taste of the perfect countryside, warm beer and cricket club included! Perfeck!

  • It was filmed on my girlfriend's grandparents farm. We have a darling buds festival every year in the Oast. Home farm is acutally called Bus Farm in real life and it's in Bethersden just outside of Pluckley. All the external shots were done here and the internals were shot in a studio.
