i see you are using AudioFire 8. i am planning on getting one ,and i was wondering if you could maybe upload a vid of it and you using it and displaying capabilities of it.
My impression is that AudioFire's philosophy is simplicity. So if you like sophiscated and quite technical things, probably Presonus is better choice. As for software,I didn't use many and not good at any of them, but I like Cubase best, I used it 4 years ago, it may be updated many times. I don't have time for recording, I'm graduating in June and have to applied to another master program soon.
all i need it to do really, besides for a/d converter, can you send different outputs to each out jack e.g out jack1 = click track, out 2 = full mix ...im pretty sure all the complex stuff takes place at the software side of it ... thanks for help ;-P
One more thing... A great musician will sound great on any equipment... What im trying to say is....less is more, don't use effects, just guitar and amp.
Id like you to practice so much than next time i see your video i'll say: "wow....it sounds like 2 guitars".... keep it up, you are doing great.
well, good pedals are quite responsive to your finger movements, sole distortion and effects driven by tube amps require at least 7/10 on volume knob, you can do this 1) in a rehearsal room 2) you have a house with basement. Not my situation. I do love pure distortion from tube amp, so warm and bright :)

1)The singing is bad. Its a 2 on a scale of 10. Sebastian Bach's voice is VERY VERY hard to immitate...When you scream, it sounds like you are in pain....dont do this, sing melodically with your own voice and style.
2)I'm a guitarist. Throughout the song you stared at your hands. Try to play the same song with your eyes closed. If you can...you mastered the instrument. You need a lot of work, don't feel discouraged. I want to see improvement...post same song again...

I picked up the sound from the guitar amp as close as I could get and I also pick up the vocal as loud as possible. I almost didn't mix all the soundtracks, I think that's the problem. I don't like this recording neither, "substance", I guess you mean "reverb"?
Vocals were good i thought at the beginning. AT about like 2 28 or so.. my ears bled sorry. You dont have to be a good singer to be a good musician though remember that
think if you flipped all the humbuckers on it may have had a smoother sound on the higher strings for parts of that. obviously though youd know that =P

GE-7 is an equalizer pedal by BOSS, CAD M177 is a Cardioid Condenser mic used mainly for vocal, CAD is a nice American brand, M178 has more functions but the quality is all the same,and it's more expensive. I got this mic on sale,very happy with the quality.

In your case,it seems like Echo firewire 8 or 12 is a nice choice,the reason I bought 8 instead of 12 is that 12 has less functions than 8,because it's purely for more I/Os,and all other functions need to be finished by other indepent equipment,such as phantom voltage for more than 4 mics,rack effects,MIDI sequencer,etc.
I always wondering if Ipod now has mp3s of 192KHz,why the sound quality still can't be compared to CDs,and most CDs are only 44KHz. So I never bothered to think about those high bit rates and always collect CDs even I have mp3s.I personally prefer .ogg and .acc files, .wav is too big.

The 44KHz of a CD is the sampling rate whereas the 192kbps of mp3 files is a bitrate. They are not really comparable as they are measuring different things. Wikipedia has more information on Sampling rate and bitrates than I could write here.
Good to see you posting again. If memory serves that's not originally a Skid Row song but Alice Cooper I think. If you want reverb my Line6 amp has great reverb on it's own (plus great distortion), or you might try the Danelectro 'Corned Beef' reverb pedal. Maybe soon you can do another video where you sing and play at the same time, that'd be cool. Keep it up.

Your techique is not good enough to play correctly this solo, but you can improve studying it very slow (60-70 bpm) and increasing slowling the speed.
I can suggest you to separate it in small parts, study very good every part and then put it together.
Pay attention to:
1. Bendings: often you miss the destination note;
2. alternate picking: start slowly and pick every note. If you miss and do legato instead, slow the metronome and practice more.
3. Good work and have fun!
