Tony Cheng has done it again! His insatiable desire to showcase his IQ points is just disturbing.

Lets look at the facts here:

1)Two old ladies in their 70s got evicted from their living quarters to make room for Olympic apartments.

2)only got enough compensation to buy 5 square meters of a new apartment.

The catch is in the amount. Apartments in Beijing can cost up to 30000 RMB per square meter in or near the center.

As the pretty apartments are showcase models, it wouldnt be at the worst location in Beijing. Hence, compensation is anywhere between 100,000 RMB and 150,000 RMB. The average monthly income in Beijing is around 4,000 RMB.

I dont know what Tony Cheng wants to proof, but I dont really see the problem.

The beauty of communist legacy problem is that those two old ladies probably never owned the place as all is state-owned. They got almost free ride. Now they want their "human right"?

In fact if China would be a just country in a communist sense they would have recived new appartments from the state. And if it was a just capitalist country they would have been payed market price.

I always welcome this kind of report. Even though it's not gonna change the overall human rights condition in china at all, it at least can help these two women individually.

In the past, when the westerners accuse chinese government on human rights issues, most chinese agree with the accusation. It is no longer the case now.
