  • im surprised you had your pit zip open

  • Try the car wash and then do a complete strip down to see how many leaks we have. Then I would be sold. I do like the set up though!

  • Why don't make sure that water is heading you directly in the front then we will see how waterproof it really is

  • What's the model of the shell?

the north face jacket getting wet at the end. a few more minutes and water will penetrate through.

i've tested my Arc'Teryx Alpha SV and it's so much better.

  • are you in a hotel ?

  • ye holiday inn

  • Amazing test - there's no arguing with that. Thanks for sharing!

  • wat size r those

  • I bet that jacket is like 300 bucks

  • @DEACONAP4LOVE Bought it on Craigslist for 100.

  • @canwilf thats sounds like a really good deal to me. Looks good.

  • how come your jacket is soooo wet but your pants just bead off the water? I have a north face jacket and the water beads up but does not roll off. It just sits there and eventually sinks in.

  • It is true. The jacket needs a fresh DWR spray coating or it won't shed water all that good. The pants do a great job but not a breathable. But my legs don't need to breath that much. So it's the jacket that needs to be improved. Gore TEX would have been better choice.

  • I thoroughly enjoyed your vid canwilf. I live in Northern Scotland and my outdoor products oscillate between North Face and Berghaus jackets and trousers for both warmth and water proofness. North face in particular has superb waterphobic barrier' with superb primary colours for third-party visability et al. I have endured both tumultous rain and deep-cold for hours with North Face products, and would recommend them to anyone! Thanks for vid. Best wishes and keep safe. Ebs.

  • I have tested my jacket this way It worked but when I went into the field after 2 houers it started to leak

  • @paweloskoczek ya, it is not Gore Tex.

That is the best by far better than the rest.

  • @paweloskoczek these type of jackets can seem to leak when you exert yourself in them from condensation build up in the jacket. Body oils can alter the performance of the inner boundary fabric, so they need to be washed (with a special dry soap that rinses completely out) and dried (to reactivate the DWR) at least quarterly. A DWR recoating is usually needed once a year. Is all else fails, the jacket has a lifetime warranty.

  • fanny demonstration i luv it ... north face iz a beast

  • Comment removed

  • its not a membrane, its a coating lol

  • MEC (Mountain Equipment COOP) proofs that canadian made material is superior and can make shame to the king of outdoors companies THE NORTH FACE!!!!

  • it seems that the pants worked way better than the jacket

  • cuase its wind breaker dick head

  • i got a north face boundry triclimate jacket which is waterproof and it works

  • Hmmm.... strange, seams that the color of this guys shirt is brown and at the end is blue.... or the light is different

  • I have a north face gore tex shoes. it isn't really waterproof. :(

  • lol a hotel

  • MEC is quality. North Face rested on their laurels, and now only their very high-end equipment is worthwhile. And by high-end, I mean mountaineering type gear. All of their mainstream stuff, including this jacket, aren't as good as what the competition has to offer. MEC, Taiga, Canada Goose, Marmot, and Mountain Hardware are all better, and better priced.

  • One word: pathetic.

More words: stay under the shower for hours, with a backpack moving on your back and rubbing the water into the fabric - you'll see... Than, use the jacket/pants for a few months - the DWR fabric will be gone (this fabric makes water go down without staying "in" the jacket/pants), go under the shower and wait half an hour - prepare dry shirt...

  • where can i get this jacket?

  • its only suitable for some minor /mild rain conditions. Unless you are using the jacket to do errands, i dont recomend u 2 get it

  • Herte in Ontario, where it is cold (cold) and dry usually in late January and February, this jacket performs superbly. Breathes good and keeps warm, and all the pockets are great.

When I used it in BC, with humid cold just below freezing, its not breath enough and not really waterproof enough. So, depends on what you will be doing wearing it and what the climate is. Cold and dry is fine even if active while wearing it. Purrfect ski jacket.

  • I have a northface circumference 3-in-1 jacket that I have seen NO WHERE. I paid 500 for it a couple years ago and i've had a few comments on it. Any info you can give me on this jacket?

  • now see how well they burn
