NHP was always revolutionary. Always cleverly produced and never afraid to take risks that would get people talking. Lets not forget some of the NHP episodes we see now on youtube are nearly 20 years old now. They still don't look dated. We will never have TV like this again in this country. Truly the best.
@TheDundon you are soooo true we will never have shows like this on tv anymore all these shitty talent and reality shows have nothing on classic shows such as this
this show has to come back just what this contrie needs some good old fun on a cold winters ningh much better than the no factor and britions got talent PLEASE BRING THIS BACK NOEL
Does anyone happen to have the unfortunate moment from the next week's first full return of the show, where an elaborate NTV setup involving two neighbours resulted in disaster, as a wobbly dark shot of the outside of a back door was accompanied by a soundtrack of what seemed to be almost domestic violence, where the intented victim is heard aggressively calling his partner a f****** c***? That REALLY happened, for those who didn't see it. Noel had to apologise.
this is richard edward blobby pound here if don't bring in many mr blobby clips i will think of throwing a custard pie rrrrrrrrrrrrrrright in your face its boring without blobby blobby blobby blob and a by
@97channel I think that was a dream you had once, seriously though bring back noel tidybeard, we are so fed up of cowell and his botox pectorals and gorilla esque head tainting our saturday screens. We demand House party to return all those who agree vote this up;-)
With the prospect of more dire tripe from cowell which I believe is about to bring more saturday night tedium, I cant believe the production companies aren`t queing up outside Noels house with bags of cash begging him to bring back HP. This was good decent family entertainment, so much variety and something for everyone, we are tired of seeing greedy selfish wanabees on xfactor and britain has (no) talent .Noel tidybeard your country needs you please bring back HP.
I think you will find that Noel Edmonds was assasinated by the BBC, and various other 'celebrities' who were incredibly jealous of his success. The show was an act of brilliance and the last genuinely family orientated Saturday evening show. It was on a par with Morecambe and Wise. No swearing, no political correctness twaddle, just great British humour.
@wibblywobbly1 Totally agree! This was the last great TV show on a Saturday night. It lost it's way in the last couple of series' but that was down to the BBC sticking their nose in more than anything.
I loved this theme tune. Can't seem to find it anywhere online. Was there a long version of it? This intro seemed a bit shorter than I remember. Anyone any vids?

It seemed to, all of a sudden, want to be all cool and trendy and started to emulate other shows of a similar nature, notably Don't Forget Your Toothbrush.
In doing so, they lost much of what had made it unique and popular in the begining.
NHP drifted into some dark times in it's later years. Which is a shame, as it overshadows the fact that it was truely brilliant for the first 3 or 4 years.
Yep - they also seemed to think that it was literally a House Party, so would employ extras to stand around in party hats at the start on the set.. Utterly ridiculous!

Can anyone identify the "young chap" alluded to by Noel in this clip, who had introduced the show the week before in his absence?
CountdownCrispy 2 years ago
The previous week was a compilation show, so I think it's just a joke on Noel's part that doesn't really work (i.e. he's referring to himself)

It seems the best years of NHP were the early ones, which i'm sadly too young to remember. I love the tune though, brings back so many memories.
kctiger19881997 2 years ago
Does anyone know what the theme tune is?
ChrisWales24 2 years ago
The house in the titles was in the Guardian on Friday, subject of a piece about houses with moats. Very topical!

JB1601 2 years ago
JB1601 - I know, the 'party' thing went too far. As the content would get weaker, the partying would get cranked up a notch to try and cover the fact.
But the thing about a party is that there's no joy in simply watching one.
Even worse, to be watching one where neither the 'guests' nor the 'host' appear to be genuinely enjoying the experience.
Just look at Noel's face throughout this clip. Right there is a man on the brink, if ever you did see one.
