I was in iraq in 09 to finish the OIF off, the only troops still doing month long ops outside of the wire were USMC units, which explains for the casualties.
2009 also had 60 army casualties when they felt safe enough to leave the FOBs.

I was in iraq in 09 to finish the OIF off, the only troops still doing month long ops outside of the wire were USMC units, which explains for the casualties.
2009 also had 60 army casualties when they felt safe enough to leave the FOBs.

You made me look up icasualties to check the actual stats on 2009 Iraq, and I only found a squad of dead Marines for that year (under 15) A whole fucking year and we loose a squad. Most of army fatalities in the past 2-3 yrs of the iraq war were from non hostile vehicle accidents and roll overs.
10 out of the 150 US casualties in a peaceful Iraq 2009 were Marines, and every one of those was due to hostile far. Meaning 140 army casualties casued by NBIs

Ranger students are already soldiers who completed their bootcamp.
They will be training on alot of combat stuff cuz that's what will be essential for survival in the field.
As for the Marine Corps recruit training, they were just Civilians when they started.
They learn how to march and wear the uniform, and learn some combat stuff and then go to MCT after bootcamp to learn more combat stuff
Don't get me wrong, I like them both, but they're both very different thin
