Hi, thank you for this demo! I'd like to know if the NPV80 can be used as a master (via USB) and if it does have Main and Variation for each style... thank you!
I want to buy one cause it's cheap and very attractive ! But at 0:50 the sound is very perfect, does it really sound like that ? How did you connect it with your computer for have such a great sound?
Glad you enjoyed our video demo. The audio was not treated or processed, just straight out of the NPV headphone jack into the camera. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
I'm looking to start my 8 year old in piano lessons. I dont want to invest too much just yet, so I'm looking at the NP31, NPV 60 and NPV80. Are they all the same, just with more features/sounds? Is there one you would suggest starting with?
Yes, these models are all similar...just with more sounds and features as you move up the line. The NPV60 would be a good place to start...plenty of features, and still quite affordable. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
thanks my friend for your answer, I really like the npv80 but now I have been researching the yamaha PSR S550B and I believe an excellent keyboard, I would be your opinion of the for and against the psr npv80 and s550b?
and what would you recommend to buy it. Thank you. regards
I have just begun my piano lessons, and since a piano is too expensive for me I'm looking for a keyboard to practice. I think a model with this will be enough for first or second year. Just two questions: does this support sustain pedal? What about staccato notes? Can this simulate them?
Thanks for your interest. I would say the Piagerro would be a good student model, although it does not have weighted keys. You'll have many sounds and features to play with. It does support a sustain pedal and will respond to staccato notes. Please feel to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
I don't speak Spanish, but I can get the meaning of most what you're asking. I'll take my best guess and answer in English. 1. The NPV80 features a USB to host port (for connecting to a computer) and a USB to device port (for connecting to a flash drive). The NPV60 only has the host port. 2. You will find 3 different accordion sounds in the NPV. 3. Released in 2010. 4. No internal storage 5. Yes, you can record.
I've owned this keyboard (and about 40 others over my career as a professional performer). Here's my quick-take on the NP V60 or 80:
1. The NP series are a LOT like the DGX and YPG Yamahas. They look a little more "professional" but are basically very similar to the silver models in the other two Yamaha lines.
2. The keys, albeit full cut and appearing piano-like, are not heavy or weighted. This plays more like an organ.
3. There's about 100 quality sounds. The rest are crap. Organs suck
USB to Host is fine but what about the fact I cannot connect it directly to a sound module with standard MIDI connectors. Is there any device (except a PC) that I can use to convert USB signal into the standard MIDI one? I think making the piano cheaper and cheaper they forgot very significant option: users have sound modules that sound much better than Yamaha NP V80. I want to use them with Piaggero. Help!
This keyboard sounds great! I have a few questions, though.
Would you consider using this keyboard on a live gig? I currently use a full-size 88 key weighted synth that is becoming too cumbersome to haul around. I'm looking for realistic acoustic piano sounds, electric pianos, strings, organs, etc.
Also, how does this compare to the YPG series keyboards? Until stumbling upon this keyboard I was considering the YPG-235. Now I'm completely undecided!
If I want to connect this keyboard to an audio system, so not using the keyboard columns, I have just the phones connector or does the keyboard have other interface? If there's only the phones connector, will I get a "bad" sound output?
You'll need to use the headphone output of the NPV80. This gives great sound quality, in fact it's how I recorded this video. Keep in mind that when you connect to the headphone jack, you'll mute the on-board speakers. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
@kraftmusic Thanks Dave!!! Your answers here have been of great help. I think I will choose this keyboard but just to make sure, I'm not a professional, just want a keyboard to have fun but at the same time, one that gives me some sound quality. With this in mind, is there any other option that would do the same or similar? Before this one, I saw the Yamaha NP-31 that is 95€ cheaper. Is the difference worth? Thanks again!!!
No, the Piagerros do not have weighted keys. They use what Yamaha calls a semi-weighted feel, closer to a synth or an organ. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
I'm primarily an acoustic piano player, and am moving out of home soon and need something to take with me.
Most important is the feel and sound of the original piano sound itself, I'm not too concerned or interested in the extra tracks. You said this one does have weighted keys, yes? Also very important is affordability.
Would you recommend this digital piano, or is there something you feel better?
Thanks for your interest. The NPV80 and NPV60 do not have weighted keys. You'd probably want to look at Yamaha's P95 digital piano or, for an upgraded action, the P155 digital piano. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
The NPV80 and NPV60 are very similar instruments. The NPV80 has a few more sounds, on-board arpeggiator, and simulated wood end caps. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Hi, Which keyboard would you recommend. The Piaggero NP-V80, or the DGX-640 Digital Piano. I play in a band and so the quality of the sounds are pretty important to me, and so are some of the features. The weight doesn't bother me too much, because I know Yamaha like to boast how light weight this NP-V80 is. Thanks, any help is appreciated.
Thanks for your interest. I would say the sound quality on the NPV80 would be pretty comparable to the DGX640. These are both considered portable keyboards with a wide variety of sounds. If you're primarily a piano player and would like a weighted key action, the DGX640 would be a good choice. Otherwise, I'd go with the NPV80 for it's light weight and portability. Thanks for watching!
@kraftmusic Thanks for the reply. The keys on the NP-V80 are Graded, but not weighted. Is that right? And also could I ask for your personal opinion on the two. Thanks, much appreciated.
Yes, it's a "Graded Soft Touch" action on the NPV80, so the non-weighted action gets progressively stronger as you move down the keyboard. If you are accustomed to the feeling of a piano, you would probably want an instrument with weighted keys.
EVERYONE is talking about the USB to device, but NOBODY is talking about the USB to host... Please, tell me : Can I record from the "usb-to-host" to my computer ?
Yes, there is a USB to host port on the back of the instrument. You can use this port to send MIDI data from your NPV to your computer. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.

Yes, you can plug the NPV80 or NPV60 into any sound system by using the headphone output. You'll just need the correct adapter/cable. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
