  • habsburgs gone, but vienna is still belonged to them

  • Please note the shortage of blonds. Political correctness!

  • The First time I heard this was on my Barbie Swan Lake video! My taste in movies has changed but my love for music has remained.

  • Class will always show through.. superb

  • FUNF Stern !

  • wonderful classic

  • Enjoy this Wonderful melody everytime! Classic.

  • this is the BEST. THANKS for uploading this video.

  • @TravellerFellow corection, the waltz, ballet AND some gymnastics as well. all together, totally divine !! ***** HooRah !!

  • pretty dresses i bet they felt like an Elizabethan princess :)

  • הדנובה הכחולה עם רקדנים ; פשוט קסם

  • I've watched this video probably almost 20 times over the last two or three years, and it just keeps getting better. I can't help but hope that with programs like this the world will remember the great classics of pop music perhaps in ADDITION to pop music today.

  • kinda disjointed conducting :P At the end when it showed the conducting of the crescendo you could see the orchestra weren't really responding. I think it's their fault :P They were running on their own sense of how it should be. Or, I'm wrong. Just how it appears to an interested working-class shitmuncher.

  • I'd like to see a football player run the ball like 1:22

  • 12 people are deaf AND blind.

  • @RandomVideoVault

Just when I was watching this one, bitter number 13 appeared.

What's there not to like? Maybe 13 people can't keep up with the movements, people dancing and all that. Maybe they get dizzy...

I found it elegant and graceful.

  • @RandomVideoVault No doubt. How could one NOT like the Blue Danube waltz? I could go the cheap shot and say they like Justin Bieber, but hey I like JB AND the Waltz LOL

  • Comment removed

  • Bravo !! just a little bit of some Old School Elegance.

  • @wicek777 hahaha i hate to say this, but "happy new year" is no longer politically correct. we have to take in to account that the entire world does not run on our Gregorian calendar (even though most of the world does). Screw it though. i'm with you, HAPPY NEW YEAR :D

  • Ozawa and Malakhov. Brilliant indeed!

  • It really makes me wish I could have seen old imperial Vienna in all its glory!

  • @straussgirl96 Lol perhaps if it was from this perspective... But I doubt it would look this magnificent from the bottom rung of the ladder... ;)

  • @crazycamel345 Well I mean I wish I could have seen it through the eyes of an aristocrat. I in general try not to think of the downsides of things :)

  • That is Seiji Osawa indeed.

  • This is AMAZING. I'm planning to use this song for my dance assignment (:

  • Superb!

  • How in hell are thoose 8 people that have given thumb down? kids today... There is no hope

  • I always chuckle to myself when seeing the waltz. This was only listened to and danced to by the youth of that generation and was considered quite decadant by the older generation. Things never change, only the music and the dance.

  • I've always liked this song

  • If they play music as you walk through the gates of heaven then this must be it..........

  • the music and the dance coordinate so very well with each other it looks like its a play with a story.:)

  • The great Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.....the greatest orchestra in the world. The Vienna has no equal when it comes to both precision and sound...magnificent.

  • simply stupendous!

  • The Conductor is Seiji Ozawa and The Ballet dancer who opens the doors to the ballroom is Vladimir Malakhov, he is a Ballet Dancer for the Vienna State Opera Ballet.

  • The whole thing is so fluid, and completely mesmerising.

  • DOOD! That is TOTALLY Ozawa..

  • Strauss ..Klimt .. .. toujours

  • The way it is played is great, because it sounds elegant and it makes me want to see a masquerade party

  • Most Music conductors always look insane... in my opinion :]

  • Yes, that is Seiji Ozawa. I think he (like the dancers) is fabulous.

  • This makes me want to build spaceships.

  • @SuperMagnetizer spaceships? wth you get that from? lol jk. It is inspirational.

  • 2001: a space odyssey made me fall in love with this song

  • @notanon666 TOO RIGHT MATE

  • Haha! I know exactly where you're coming from!

  • @notanon666 yeah me too, that scene is possibly the most moving piece of cinema i have witnessed

  • I REALLY LIKE IT

  • i saw this guy live

  • Dedicated to those of us who appreciate the finer things in life. A masterpiece. And the dance sequence was breathtakingly beautiful.

  • Great, great, great, what a masterpiece! I love the sounds

  • ..ever since i read choke i honestly do think this song secretly makes death reap

  • :-)

  • Isn't that Seiji Ozawa?

  • @mullerheinrich No, that's Batman. COME ON!!!!!!

  • @mullerheinrich of course it is

  • @mullerheinrich Notice the dancer? That's Malakhov. ;)

  • @mullerheinrich it looks like him, although the other video i seen him in is the 1812 overture

  • @mullerheinrich

Yeah, that's Seiji Ozawa. He conducts the "Boston Pops" orchrestra broadcast on the A&E Channel for 4th of July fireworks displays amongst other things.

  • Esto es simplemente magnífico :O

  • my god! you can't face it into words... he and his art are beautiful, perfect, amazing, awesome ! I absolutely

    ADORE HIM!

  • You are !!!!STUPID!!!!! with comments like that. But then, you must be what in your terminology, you call yourselves !!! A Red Neck!!!

  • .... How do you know if he is gay or straight, and how do you know if someone is gay or not? Have you got special seances that tells you when someone is Straight, Bisexual or Homosexual and besides, I have loads of friends who are ballet dancers and FYI they are Straight and some of then married and teach ballet as well, and if some are gay So WHAT!! at this day an age we should we shud be beyond that and judge individuals for the personality and not 4 their sexual practice in private.

  • you're an odd one for having posted such rubbish. just enjoy this beautiful ballet like the rest of us are. Enjoy it's beauty and please refrain from posting your perverted nonsense. You sir are an imbecile. Gosh i do no know why i am even wasting my time replying to this. Wishing you and everyone else more mature and better postings. Happy New Years.

  • bravoo

  • I Love This!!! An absolutely beautiful video to my favorite Absolutely Beautiful waltz!!! Thank You!!!

  • To the silly goose

Is there a difference between a boob and an armpit, both are sexy places in a beautiful woman.Sometimes an armpit can excite you more than a boob if it is clean and shaven and scented, right?

  • He looks more like Chinese then Russian, though his name is Russian.

  • I think the Russian name is the name of the lead dancer. This is the Russian Ballet I think and the conductor is from Japan. I am 99.9% positive on this.

  • Vladimir is originally from Russia but dances for the viennese state opera house ballet. The conductor is Seiji Oshawa currently the conductor of the Viennese Philharmonic Orchestra. This is an excerpt from the world famous Viennese New Years concert televised live in 64 countries every year on the 1st of January.

The ballet has been shot in the Belvedere Palace.

  • @LibbyMac11, is the .1% the chance that we live in bizarro world, perhaps? jk

  • Besides Tchaikovsky, it seems all of the best composers are from Austria or Germany doesn't it?

  • what about zappa?

  • Comment removed

  • 3:30 - 3:35 ; Is the guy on the left grabbing her boob after that lift he does?

  • No you silly goose. Hes holding her up by her arm pit.

  • doesn't it make you dream?

  • I can't listen to this lovely Strauss piece without visualizing the space docking sequence from "2001: A Space Odyssey".

Does anyone know if there's a performance to this where it's simply a waltz, not a ballet?

  • have you checked out anderson and roe. they are on you tube. very interesting to watch them play. blue danube fantasy should bring it up

  • can anybody please tell me who is the conductor in this video?

  • Seiji Ozawa

  • This is one of my favorite piece, it reminds me my childhool, I used to dance ballet, over and over to this piece. I still hear it sometimes. I could listen to Classical music every single day . Everytime I I hear this piece I stay breathless. The Ballerina are fabulous, I would prefer for them to dance in pointe. I've seen them dancing in pointe to this piece.

  • how do u pronounce DANUBE?

  • I assume dah-noob, but it might be da-noob-eh

  • dan-oob would be close

  • thx! as well

  • thx!

  • It,s officially called "An der schone bluaen Donau" Don,t know why they call it Danube, sounds kind of German too, maybe the river Donau is called Danube in English? Pronounce almost just the same as it,s written Danubeh ;} Donau is more like" tho now "sounds the same ;}

  • it is the so called "Donau Walzer"..."An der schönen blauen Donau" (translates to: on the banks of the beautiful blue Danube) We pronounce it pretty much the wy you wrote it down...perhaps like: dough now :)

  • dazzled by its amazement

    =DD
