Most of the world has evolved to acknowledge human rights, freedoms, but this one is stubborn. I am not saying its the only one that has problems, but it sticks out. The mere existence of the country, costs the rest of the world precious resources that could be spent on the welfares of their own.

I speak not of just Iran but the Middle East. Containing the area, and eliminating it will effectively end costly conflicts for superior nations.

As you already said, the people who live there are just like us. They have families, jobs, houses, religion. They are people. Iran is far from perfect and it is certainly not the poster child for human rights, but is the US either?

Election fraud, capital punishment, homophobia, sexism, holding people for years without a trial, torture, religious fundamentalism, religious persecution, rampant bias in the media, with holding medical care if you don't have the proper insurance, displaced members of the public. Racism, police abusing their power, corrupt politicians, invasion of privacy.

Mohammad Reza Pahlavi was mostly not rejected by the Iranian people because of cultural differences (although Western scholars like to point this out). It was more because he was an elitist tard who only helped a small minority of Iranians while leaving the rest of the population to die.
