C# was the Pure tuning Songs of Love and Hate era, after that they kept going lower eventually down to A. Ever heard a Broadrick guitar solo? He is the greatest ever.
Thank you for uploading this video. I have had the chance to meet both Justin and Benny several times over the years at gigs and have them sign all of my GODFLESH (and side projects) stuff.
Justin has always been kind enough to make time to chat with me and is easily approachable by other fans wanting to make conversation about the band and music in general.
Glad to see Justin is back to good health and that he has overcome his anxiety condition.
@boondoo Agreed. That is part of what draws me to Godflesh, the way the bass is SO heavy and so forward in the recordings. I loved that, as opposed to most bands that the bass in just for background. The bass was an integral part of the Godflesh sound.
I saw them many a time - and to answer Justin about opening for Danzig (I saw them at Roseland NYC open for Danzig and Type-O) - IMO you guys blew Danzig off the stage. Danzig was great on the first album when he had Chuck Bisquits on drums but after the second album they were toast. Godflesh were always edgy and ahead of the times. Cool video - enjoyed watching it!
I met Drum Machine in '96. He's a really cool dude. Gave me a t-shirt and everything.
